OUR TRANSFORMATION IS UNDERWAY.......!

We’ve been a little quiet lately… but there’s been A LOT happening behind the scenes at B&C Plastics.

Over the past few months, we have been creating, inventing, improving, moving and investing, all while keeping business as usual running every day.

That’s probably been the biggest challenge of all!

Expanding across Units 5, 6 & 7 while continuing to manufacture, meet customer commitments and keep everything moving is a huge undertaking.

We are definitely still a work in progress and there’s plenty more to do but…..

🏭 Unit 7 is being transformed into our manufacturing / production hub, bringing together our injection moulding capability, state-of-the-art equipment, new machinery, robotics and automation.

⚙️ Unit 6 is home to our Engineering and Toolmaking Department, supporting the journey from ideas and development through to tooling and machining capabilities for small to mass production.

♻️ Unit 5 is evolving to support our warehousing and recycling capability, including a purpose-built space / room as we prepare for current and future demands. This Unit symbolises the growth of the business, separating out our circular and recycling capabilities into a Unit of its own - a new business is evolving in its own right but still part of our BC Group.

It’s a BIG move, actually lots of big moves - Machines, equipment, stock, people, processes and workflows, all being reconsidered and improved while the factory keeps running.

For us, growth isn't just about having more space, it's about asking how can we do this better? That’s our 1% better every day philosophy:-

Better flow.
Better technology.
Better processes.
Better capability.

20 years in business. Three units. One team. Still improving. Still evolving……

Twenty Years of Growth, Gratitude and Great People:-

Today wasn't just about celebrating 20 years of B & C Plastics, it was about celebrating the people who have helped make those 20 years possible.

Our team came together for a cultural lunch, with everyone bringing a dish that reflected their heritage. Looking around the room and seeing so many different cultures sharing food, stories and laughter was a wonderful reminder that while we all come from different backgrounds, we are one team with a shared purpose.

As a small thank you, we gave each team member a gift bag. Every item was chosen for a reason:-

🍫 Chocolate - to keep your energy up as we continue building our future.
🍬 Jelly Beans - because work should always include a little fun.
🌿 A Plant - representing growth... the growth of our business, but also the growth of each person within it.
☕ A 20th Anniversary Mug - a symbol of the memories that we have created together and memories still to come.

and a few words of gratitude.....
"Thank you for being part of our journey."

When B & C Plastics began 20 years ago, we were in a small 300m² factory with just a couple of injection moulding machines.

Today, we operate across three facilities, with more than 2,400m² under one roof, multiple departments working together, and an incredible team who continue to make our vision a reality.

Buildings and machinery don't build Businesses - People do.
To every member of the B & C team, past and present, thank you for your commitment, your resilience, your ideas and your belief in what we are building together.

Here's to the next chapter of the journey.

💙 Happy 20th Birthday, B & C Plastics.

Twenty Years Later...

Almost twenty years ago, we opened the roller door on a single 350m² factory in Underwood. In all honesty, it had seen better days, and was rough around the edges to say the least but we had a vision for the future.

We had just three plastic injection moulding machines back then, a small but determined team (actually just the founders and a Receptionist), they rolled up their sleeves and had one simple goal...

Do great work. Look after our customers. Keep improving every day.

Today, we are proud to call three adjoining facilities totalling 2,700m² in Meadowbrook home - a reflection of just how far we have come....

Along the way we have added many machines, engineering capability, CNC machining, toolmaking, 3D printing, recycling, granulation and so much more.

Our recent expansion has also created additional manufacturing capacity, allowing us to support existing customers as they grow while welcoming new Australian Businesses looking for a reliable, long-term manufacturing partner.

None of those things are our greatest achievement though....

Our greatest achievement is the people who have been part of this journey.

* The team members who have turned up every day and taken pride in what they do.

* The customers who trusted us with their ideas.

* The suppliers, partners and friends who have backed us over the years.

Together we have built far more than a manufacturing business.

* We have built relationships.

* We have built capability.

* We have built trust.

As we begin another financial year and finalise our next Road Map, we are excited about what comes next:-

* We will continue investing in Australian Manufacturing.
* We will continue embracing innovation.
* We will continue to expand our manufacturing capabilities.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our story so far.

Here's to the next chapter.

Painted Picture Session with Royston 🎨

Today, Royston led our Painted Picture session, giving us the opportunity to reflect on the year that has been. Everyone shared something they were proud of or a win they’ve experienced for the business. It was great to hear so many positive stories and celebrate our achievements together.

🎂 We also celebrated our June birthdays with plenty of party munchies and cake. Happy Birthday to Amila and Megan! 🥳

👏 A big congratulations to Brent, who was presented with this month’s Gratitude Award by Tim.

Tim shared that Brent stepping up to take over the morning start-ups has allowed him to focus on maintenance, which has been a huge win for the team. He was also grateful that Brent put his hand up to complete his Do***ng Licence earlier this month, showing his willingness to learn and support the business.

Well done, Brent! You’re making a big impact, and we’re all grateful for your positive attitude and commitment. Keep up the fantastic work! 👏💙

A Question We Get Asked All of the Time - Who Owns the Mould?

When developing a new plastic component, the process at B & C Plastics is straight forward:

You have an idea.
We design the component.
We create a prototype.
We design the mould to manufacture the component.
We build the mould.
You approve the first-off samples.
We manufacture your components.
We deliver your components.

One of the most common questions we receive is:
"Do I actually own the mould?"
In most cases, the answer is simply "yes".

If you have paid for the mould, the mould belongs to you. It is your asset. We simply store it safely at our facility so that it is ready whenever you need production runs.

When you place an order, we retrieve your mould from storage, manufacture your components, and then return the mould to storage until your next order.

Some customers choose to store their moulds at their own facility and bring them to us when required. That's completely their choice because the mould is their asset.

There are occasions where B & C Plastics may invest in the tooling on behalf of a customer. In these cases, mould ownership will be clearly defined and agreed upon from the outset. If the tooling cost has not been paid for or amortised into production, the mould may remain the property of B & C Plastics.

At B & C Plastics, we believe in being transparent about mould ownership. Whether customer-owned or supplier-owned, we believe ownership should always be clear, documented, and understood by all parties from day one.

We are proud to offer a manufacturing partnership built on clarity, trust, and long-term support.
