Thank you, Meredith!

We had an absolute blast today at our Meredith Emergency Services Expo, and we hope you did too!

It was great to see so many people come down to meet their local crews and get involved in the activities.

If you have any photos from today that you'd like to share with us, please drop them in the comments below.
Or just tell us what your favourite part of the day was 😊

Also a HUGE thank you to our local emergency services colleagues that helped make today possible - Maude CFA, Buninyong-Mount Helen Fire Brigade, Bannockburn Unit, Meredith CERT team, and our local VicPol member.

🚒 BIG NEWS! 🚒

After 8 years of trying, we're thrilled to announce our brigade has been approved for a VESEP grant to get a brand new CFA Ultra Light Tanker!

❓ What is VESEP?
The Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) is a Victorian Government funded program that helps CFA brigades replace and upgrade vehicles and equipment so volunteers have the gear they need to protect their communities.

🔥 What this means for us
• Better access through forested areas and tight bush tracks
• Better suited to steep, rough terrain thanks to its 4WD capability
• A fast first response with a small crew, getting to fires quicker
• Easier to crew, as it only needs a car licence to drive
• Water, foam and a live hosereel ready to go for quick initial attack
• More flexibility for our larger tankers to focus on the jobs they do best

📅 Come and see one in person!
Thanks to our friends at Maude CFA, we'll have an Ultra Light Tanker on display this Sunday at our Emergency Services Expo.

📍 Meredith Recreation Reserve
🕙 10am to 2pm

Come down, have a look, climb in and chat to our members!

⏳ A quick note: we won't be getting our tanker this year, but after 8 years of persistence, it's absolutely worth the wait.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. See you Sunday! ❤️💙

This weekend, two of our members got married - to each other!
What else would you expect from two passionate firefighters, other than a stunning vintage firetruck and a quick snap showing off their now matching name patches?
Congratulations Mitch and Amber 🍾💐

At 11.25pm last night, we were paged to a shed fire on Midland Hwy. We arrived to find a shed full of egg cartons fully involved.

Crews from multiple brigades, including CFA and FRV, worked through the night to bring the fire under control and stop it spreading to adjoining buildings.

Crews remain on scene, monitoring for flare ups.

Thank you to all brigades who came to assist - it was a true team effort.

🔥 GO AMBER! 🔥

This morning, our member Amber is taking on the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb!

She'll be climbing 28 floors, wearing 25kg of firefighting gear, to raise vital funds for crisis support and cancer research.

We couldn’t be prouder to cheer her on from the sidelines.

She’s already at the starting line, but donations are still open if you’d like to get behind her and support these really important causes.

Go smash it, Amber! 💪🔥

Today we responded to a cabin fire in Morrisons, for what turned out to be a multi-brigade effort.

A huge shoutout to Harley, one of our most recently qualified firefighters, for his efforts at his first big job.

Great teamwork from all brigades involved.
