A healthy business starts with a healthy team. Today, as we mark R U OK? Day, the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce encourages all our local business owners, leaders, and team members to take a moment to check in with one another.
Running or working in a business brings incredible rewards, but it also carries unique pressures - from economic shifts to long hours. Sometimes, a simple, meaningful conversation is all it takes to make someone feel supported and connected.

The 4 Steps to Starting a Conversation:
- Ask R U OK? Choose a comfortable space and ask with genuine care.
- Listen with an open mind and without judgment.
- Encourage Action by exploring practical next steps or professional support if needed.
- Check In again down the track to show you’re still in their corner. Checking in doesn't need to happen just once a year - building a culture where staff feel comfortable talking about mental health helps our entire regional business community thrive.

Workplace Resources & ToolsWhether you manage a team of two or two hundred, free tools are available to help you foster a supportive workplace environment.

Our Interim CEO, Sarah Philpott, has been getting out and about across the Limestone Coast, connecting with local businesses and the organisations that support them.
Last week, Sarah joined the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce for its AGM and networking event, catching up with members and hearing more about what’s happening in the local business community.
With planning well underway for the upcoming Business Awards, there is plenty happening at the Chamber, and we look forward to celebrating the businesses and people contributing to our region.
