Meet Sofia | Recruitment Consultant

Sofia is the newest team member at GEM, working across construction, engineering and trades.

She brings three years of recruitment experience in New Zealand, backed by seven years in customer service. During that time, she was part of an award-winning recruitment team of three for three consecutive years.

Recruitment has also been part of Sofia’s life from a young age, with her mum building a successful career in the industry. That early exposure helped shape Sofia’s natural interest in people, relationship-building and recruitment.

Outside of work, Sofia is learning to play golf and spends plenty of time at the driving range. Although, as she puts it, recruitment is never too far from her mind, with ideas often coming to her when she least expects them.

Her approach is straightforward. Don’t promise what you can’t deliver, and work relentlessly to find the right person for the job.

Meet George 👋 Many of you already know him, but it's been a while since we've properly introduced him on here.

George started GEM back in 2023. With a background of almost a decade in the recruitment industry, he has the connections, knowledge and experience to provide his clients and candidates with what they need.

George specialises in both blue and white-collar resourcing. More specifically: Manufacturing, Trade Services, Warehousing & Logistics, Project Management and Architecture & Design. He is not just a professional but also a person who values relationships and trust.

Outside the office, George is a former World Champion Muay Thai boxer, which probably explains why he doesn't back down from a tough brief.
