This Good Friday, we’ll be back out on the streets of Rye with Uncle Bob’s Club, proudly collecting for the Good Friday Appeal.

Keep an ear out for the trucks, come say hello to the crews, and if you can, have some cash or change ready to fill the tins.
It’s an incredible cause — let’s dig deep and support the kids!

A Total Fire Ban has been declared for the whole State of Victoria on Tuesday 27 January 2026.

No fires can be lit, or be allowed to remain alight, in the open air from 12:01 AM until 11:59 PM. More information: www.cfa.vic.gov.au/firebans

Tomorrow Saturday 24th January 2026 has been declared by the Country Fire Authority Chief Officer as a TOTAL FIRE BAN for the E N T I R E State of Victoria.

That means NO OPEN AIR BURNING whatsoever between Midnight tonight and 23:59 hours tomorrow without a written permit.

Please hydrate, keep a look out for elderly or disabled neighbours, enact your personal Fire Plan and let other family members know that plan, especially if you choose to leave.

Best option is to always LEAVE EARLY.

Keep to the left when you are in the path of Fire or Emergency Vehicles operating under emergency conditions (Lights & or Siren) and remember SLOW DOWN to 40 Kilometres when passing stationary emergency vehicles.

Righto legends, this Saturday 17th 10am til 1pm there’s a bloody good reason to put the thongs on and leave the couch.

Cliffex Meats are firing up a sausage sizzle to raise funds for our absolute weapons at the Rye & Rosebud CFA. The people who run towards fire while the rest of us are looking for the car keys and yelling “WHERE’S THE DOG”.

Full disclosure, I won’t be there because I’ll be at the Sandown vintage car races, standing around pretending I know engines, nodding like “yep yep, sounds fast” while inhaling petrol fumes for the culture.

BUT.

That does not get you lot off the hook. Get your butts down there, chuck some cash in, grab a bloody good snag and support the volunteers who protect our community when s**t gets real.

And before anyone asks where it is, relax.

Thank you to everyone who came down yesterday to our community 'Get Fire Ready session'.
It was amazing to see such a great turnout, with around 60 members of our community taking the time to get informed, ask questions, and prepare for the season ahead.
