My journey into this industry began many years ago after experiencing my own tragic event losing a house to a fire. Not long after, I also went through major storm damage to another home and, unfortunately, didn’t have the best e

xperience with the make-safe and demolition companies at the time. That experience sparked my passion to do better. I started working for another company to gain experience, where I fell in love with the work and saw the difference genuine care and quality can make for people going through hardship. From there, I made the decision to step out on my own and start BCM Disaster Relief — built on honesty, compassion, and work that’s always above gold standard. With over 10 years in the industry, I take great pride in every job we do because I know firsthand how stressful these situations can be. My goal is to make sure every client feels supported, informed, and taken care of from start to finish. A little about me I’m originally from Melbourne, where I lived most of my life before moving up to the Goulburn area nearly nine years ago with my partner and our two young children. We now live on a local farm, enjoying the country life and wouldn’t change it for the world. 🌾

Another emergency make safe completed by the BCM team.

This property presented with ceiling damage and visible mould contamination, requiring immediate action to help keep the area safe for the occupants.

Our technicians carried out ceiling/roof propping where required and contained the mould-affected area to minimise further exposure until permanent repairs and remediation can be completed.

🎉 HUGE ACHIEVEMENT FOR BCM DISASTER RELIEF! 🎉

We’re incredibly proud to announce that the boss man himself Beau has officially passed both his IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) and Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) exams! 👏

This is a huge achievement and an amazing addition to the qualifications and services behind BCM Disaster Relief.

With these certifications, BCM is continuing to expand our capabilities and can now provide professional restoration services alongside our existing emergency and disaster response services, including make-safes, temporary fencing, ceiling propping, arborist works, roof tarping, strip-outs, water damage response and much more.

And we’re not stopping there... 👀

This October, our technicians will be undertaking their Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) training and certification!

What makes this achievement even more special is where it all started. More than 10 years ago, Beau was working out in the field alongside some of the best make-safe companies in the industry. From gaining that hands-on experience, to eventually taking the leap and building BCM Disaster Relief, it’s incredible to see how far the business has come.

We are extremely proud of everything BCM has achieved, but even more excited about where we’re heading.

🔎 A QUICK FIND = A QUICK FIX

BCM technicians were originally sent to this Regional Victorian property to complete a Virtual Assessment, but while onsite, our technician identified a damaged roof tile that appeared to be the source of the water ingress.

Rather than simply documenting the issue and leaving it for another visit, BCM contacted the insurance company while still onsite and obtained approval to complete the required works.

✅ Cause of water ingress identified
✅ Insurer contacted from site
✅ Approval obtained
✅ Damaged tile replaced immediately
✅ Further water ingress minimised
✅ No unnecessary second attendance required

Sometimes the difference is simply having an experienced technician onsite who knows what to look for and takes the initiative to get it sorted.

A huge thank you to Mark Cornelius and the team at TESA Directive for an incredible week of training!

We recently had the opportunity to complete IICRC training delivered by TESA Directive, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic.

The level of knowledge, industry experience and practical insight shared throughout the course was invaluable. It wasn’t just about completing a qualification, it gave us a deeper understanding of the restoration industry, best-practice processes and the knowledge we can now take directly back into the field.

At BCM Disaster Relief, we’re committed to continually investing in training and professional development so we can keep improving the service we provide across emergency make-safe, disaster response and restoration works.

A special thank you to Mark for making the course so engaging, informative and enjoyable. His knowledge and passion for the industry really shows, and there was never a question he wasn’t willing to explain or discuss.

We walked away from the week with new skills, greater knowledge and even more motivation to continue expanding our capabilities within the restoration industry.

🌳 RECENT MAKE-SAFE | WANGARATTA VIC

A fallen tree caused significant structural damage to this shed, leaving the contents exposed and water already entering the structure.

By the time BCM technicians arrived, the tree had been removed and the damaged shed required immediate temporary protection.

Our team:
🔸 Assessed and documented the damage
🔸 Installed a large temporary tarp over the damaged structure
🔸 Secured the tarp using sandbags and additional anchoring
🔸 Helped minimise further water ingress and protect the remaining contents

Due to the extent of the structural damage, the homeowner was also advised not to re-enter the shed until further assessment and repairs can be completed.

Another property secured and protected from further damage. 💪

When safety is involved, there’s no time to wait.

BCM Disaster Relief attended a property in Shepparton after a bathroom leak required plumbers to remove the shower wall to access the affected area.

With a child with a disability living in the home, it was especially important that the exposed area was made safe and secure as quickly as possible.

Our team attended and:
🔨 Boarded up the exposed shower area
💧 Sealed around the edges with silicone and tape
⚠️ Temporarily covered the exposed drain
✅ Secured the area until the plumbers and restoration team can return to complete the works

Another emergency makesafe completed with the occupants’ safety as the priority.

🌧️ STORM DAMAGE MAKE-SAFE | BURRAMINE SOUTH, VIC

Following recent storm activity, BCM Disaster Relief attended a property in Burramine South after a tree impacted the carport/patio area, damaging the plastic skylight sheeting.

Our technician completed an emergency make-safe by securely tarping the damaged area, sealing the edges with butyl tape and silicone to help prevent further water ingress.

Another property secured and protected from further weather exposure. 🏠🔨
