It's Safe Work Month, so here's AS 4084 in plain English, in three lines:

Your team checks the racking regularly, based on how busy your site is.
A competent person does a formal inspection at least every 12 months and gives you a written report.
Damage is rated red, amber or green, and each one has a clear next step. Red means unload and isolate it now.

Damaged racking is one of the most common warehouse risks, and one of the most avoidable.

It's National Safe Work Month, and this year's theme is "Safe work is for life."

In a warehouse, that starts with the racking over everyone's heads.

When our team inspects your racking, here's what we're looking at:

– Uprights: dents, twists and splits
– Beams: sag, bent connectors, missing safety clips
– Load signs: there, and still correct
– Bracing and floor fixings
– Loads that don't suit the racking

Then we tell you what matters, what can wait, and we help you fix it.

We'll be at Elmore Field Days & Events Centre!

We've just packed up after Henty, but the field days season isn't over yet. We'll be at Elmore on the 6th, 7th and 8th of October.

230km travelled, 6°C, 8.30am start, and the SuniTAFE needs their workspace back by the end of the day.

Our install crews work around live operations most of the time, whether that's a workshop, warehouse or manufacturing facility. That means hi-vis on, tools where they should be, and leaving the site cleaner than we found it. It's not glamorous and it doesn't make a great brochure.

But when customers tell us what they value, "your blokes didn't get in the way and cleaned up after themselves" comes up more often than anything about the product.
