WE'RE HIRING. QUALIFIED BOAT BUILDER / SHIPWRIGHT REQUIRED⚓

Come join Darren and the team!

Fibreglass construction + fit-out experience essential.

Voyager Catamarans is looking for an experienced boat builder / shipwright to join our small team at Pacific Point Marina, Gold Coast.

We're building serious custom offshore power catamarans — not cookie-cutter production boats.

The deal:

🔹 Initial 3–4 month engagement
🔹 Own professional tools essential
🔹 Must be able to work autonomously
🔹 Fibreglass construction + fit-out experience essential

Don't just send us a CV — show us what you've built.

Photos, portfolio, videos or social links are welcome.

Latest from the Shed | Space in Your Catamaran

Two things we hear all the time:
“You build these in Australia?” Yep — right here on the Gold Coast!
And probably even more often: “There’s so much space!”

So, we thought we’d show you why.

Take a look inside our V930 build as we compare the Series 1 and Series 2, and show some of the clever ways we build usable space into our hulls.

It’s not just about making a boat bigger — it’s about making better use of every bit of space.

Have a look 👀

Darren and I spent yesterday at the BLA Trade Show in Brisbane — and it was worth every minute.
A big thank you to BLA lifestyle and to our rep Chris Byrnes for making sure we were there and looking after us on the day. Events like this are where we find out what's coming before it arrives on the market.
Two things stood out amongst all the great offerings.
The first was and their Photon camera. I looked into marine night vision cameras a while back for a customer. At the time, options were limited and expensive, with distributors who didn't call back, so he decided not to go ahead. I think the Photon changes that. Full colour 4K video in near-total darkness, at a price point that actually makes sense. Speaking directly with the Iris team and seeing the comparison footage Gary showed us made all the difference. I've share it here for you to see too. We can now confidently offer it as a new build and aftermarket option on all Voyager vessels. And if you were the one who asked me about night vision cameras back in April — get in touch, because I think I've found your answer!
The second was the Australian team and seeing the Optimus 360 joystick system. There's a perception in the market that joystick docking is only available if you go Yamaha or Mercury. It isn't. The Dometic Optimus 360 works with Suzuki outboards — our standard engine — and gives you the same fingertip low-speed control for docking and manoeuvring. We've always been able to offer this. Now I can explain it properly and give you options across all engine brands.
Get in touch and I'll share more of what I learned today.

We promised you a look inside the V930 Series 2 build last week - and here it is.
Darren walks me through the bulkhead installation. What they are, where they go, and why they matter. It's filmed in the shed so the sound isn't always perfect - but it's real. This is what building one of these boats actually looks and sounds like.
Watch it here: https://youtube.com/shorts/b2ptUWodHxw
If you want more detail, we've also just published a Build Journal post that goes deeper on bulkheads - including why Voyager moved away from timber to Armacell. Worth a read if you're curious about how these boats are put together.

The V930 under construction is still available to buy into - fitout hasn't started, so there's still real opportunity to shape this build around how you use the water.

We've been a bit quiet on here lately and we wanted to explain why.
We've been rebuilding the Voyager Catamarans website from scratch, and we're back to our original home: voyagercats.com.au. New look, better structure, and something we're really proud of: The Build Journal.
The Build Journal isn't just about what goes into building these boats, it's designed to help anyone who's thinking about buying a boat work through the whole journey. Why a catamaran? What size? Which engines? What does a custom build actually involve? Written by someone new, on a journey to learn the industry, getting information from people who've spent decades answering exactly these questions.
Posts are live now, with more going up this week. We'd love you to have a look.

We're in print — how good is that?
Voyager Catamarans has a feature on page 48 of the July 2026 edition of AFLOAT Magazine , plus an editorial mention on page 4.
A big thank you to Kevin Green at Afloat for the support. Australian manufacturing deserves a spotlight, and it's lovely when the industry press agrees.

It's back to reality after the boat show so we decided to raise the roof... we really did!
The V930 Series 2 currently under build in our shed has just had 150mm added to the cabin height. It's now a permanent change to the build standard which came directly from conversations with visitors at SCIBS last month.
The idea wasn't new. We'd actually been discussing it recently. But standing at the show and talking to serious offshore cruisers confirmed what we suspected: headroom matters, and 150mm is the difference between comfortable and genuinely livable offshore.
That's how it works for us. No two Voyager builds are identical. Every boat we complete makes the next one better - better from owner feedback, better from builder instinct, and better from the conversations we have with people who actually use these boats in real conditions. And we love that!
If you've been watching the V930 Series 2, this is the next one to watch.
