📢BREAKING NEWS 📢

I've decided that Say I DO with Drew will be hanging up the mic (see pic for reference, lol), at the end of this year - my 10th year as a celebrant! Wow. What a ride. So many awesome times I can honestly say I've seen it all. It's very humbling that hundreds of people chose me to be their celebrant, that I was part of their big day and a lot of time - stuck in their wedding photo collection, haha. From sunrise, to sunset. From at my house in PJs, to the most extravagant venues in Brisbane city, from the most awesome beaches, to people's homes, air bnbs, pub, clubs, veneus and everything inbetween. From ceremonies that barely last 5 mins, to the longest (probs only around 40 min). From sooo many laughs, stitch ups, loose crowd heckles and broken glass, to tears, smiles and super special feels. From owls delivering rings, to brides arriving on horses, bridesmaides having ginea pigs in baskets. From surprise weddings (for guests), to dress ups, themed and dares pre wedding that resulted in me be able to do the ceremony in my Rabbitohs jersey.
I believe you attract what you put out there. And, with that in mind I attracted couples who wanted a fun, easy going ceremony, with some love and legals mixed in. From f bombs to prayers, to lucky dips, epic paper scissors rock battles and even myself - doing back up vocals to a song. From legit - rain, hail amd shine. Everything. Zero bridezillas, zero people left standing at the arbour, zero objections and zero couples who did me over (actually, there was one - but let's not ruin a good story). I want to thank everyone single couple for having me as their celebrant. It feels so cool to have had that journey with you. Super special. I'd like to think that I always encouraged couples to reflect themselves in their ceremony and to 'do them'. That there was no 'right or wrong' and just to have fun!

It's a tricky post to write. It's weird. It's been a part of my life for 10 years! It's actually really emotional. I'm super proud of myself. I became a celebrant off the back of seeing a boring ceremony, and wanted to create a bit of fun for couples. I hope that's what I did! Definitely tried to!

In saying the above, I have a request, so that I can look back at this post with fond memories that capture the last 10 years, in a nutshell. If you have a special/stand out memory/memories from your wedding - let me know here. If you have pictures of us together - post them here. I would love to walk down memory lane with this post and reminisce (even now) and get all nostalgic.

Are Facebook business pages dead?

Who knows. But, what i do know is that i got to be the celebrant for my ex-boss (Best and Less represent) from 2003/4! This is what makes this gig so awesome. It's never ever the same. Cracker day. Even better couple. Awesome family. So glad I could be part of your day, brother! All the best to Nat and yourself! Could of given me a tip for my honest jar though! - IYKYK 🤘
