We held our first group benchmarking meeting of the year last week.

Discussion was focused on the FY26 performance, with profits across the group up over 30%. The performance of breeding enterprises during the year was a clear standout. Beef prices averaged the 82nd percentile of long term prices for the year, and the group was interested in how much influence this had on the result.

The ABR is another week closer!

This edition's Pastoral Panel - a group of 15 top performing family and pastoral business managers - provide some fantastic advice on the importance of approaching your beef business wholistically, including understanding land management. One of our Panel members highlighted that knowing the differences between land types is crucial to success 👇

"Land management is different on all the different land types. It's a process of set the management and closely monitor it paddock-by-paddock. Then usually the numbers will tell you. If you're overstocked your productivity will go down - and that's productivity of the stock and the country."
