Our mates at MDV Hire (Sale) are looking for a Retail and Equipment Hire Worker - someone practical who can help keep the gear looking sharp, the customers looked after, and the business putting its best foot forward every day.

🟠Position details:🟠
▪️Monday to Friday
▪️12.00pm to 6.00pm
▪️Sale / Gippsland
▪️Attractive hourly rate plus penalties, depending on tickets and experience relevant to the role

This is a hands-on afternoon role in their equipment hire business, looking after customers, hire gear, shop and yard and the way the business presents each day.

They're looking for someone who takes pride in good service, works efficiently, communicates well, and understands that equipment should never leave the shed in anything less than great condition.

Your day-to-day work will include:
▪️Helping customers in person and over the phone
▪️Checking machinery and equipment in and out
▪️Cleaning and preparing machinery and hire gear so it is ready to go
▪️Taking care of basic paperwork, bookings and hire records
▪️Keeping the shop, yard and shed areas clean, safe and well presented
▪️Helping with basic machinery maintenance and reporting any issues
▪️Assisting with simple admin and computer tasks (and social media support would be a bonus)
▪️Pitching in where needed as part of a small team

This role would suit someone who is practical, trustworthy and happy to get their hands dirty. Someone who enjoys tinkering, working around tools and machinery, and taking ownership of their area.

They're looking for a person who:
✅️Takes pride in doing a job properly
✅️Cares about customers and the impression they get of the business
✅️Can work independently and be trusted to get things done
✅️Is professional, friendly and easy to deal with
✅️Notices what needs doing and gets on with it
✅️Is comfortable with basic paperwork and computer tasks
✅️Wants a steady Monday to Friday role where the shop, customers and equipment are the priority
✅️Experience with machinery, tools, equipment hire, retail, customer service, admin, maintenance, yard work or civil construction would be well regarded.

A current driver’s licence is required.

Tickets such as forklift, chainsaw operation, First Aid or other relevant machinery/safety tickets would be a bonus. There may also be opportunities to build skills, take on extra responsibilities or work towards additional tickets over time.

This is a rare opportunity to make a hands-on role your own, be part of a good little team, and grow with a local Sale business.

Applications will be open for up to two weeks, but they'll be speaking with suitable applicants as they come through. If the right person applies early, they may move quickly.

To apply, send MDV a message with a bit about yourself and your work experience, drop your resume into the shop in Sal, or email [email protected]

🔵 FCHR UPDATE: Fair Work Annual Wage Review 2026 Decision 🔵

The Fair Work Commission has handed down its Annual Wage Review 2026 decision, coming into effect from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026.

Award rates will increase by 4.75%. The National Minimum Wage will increase to $26.44 per hour or $1,004.90 per week for a full-time employee working a 38-hour week.

This is one of the most significant wage decisions in recent years. While the increase falls short of the 5.75% rise awarded in 2023, it is notably higher than the increases handed down in 2024 and 2025 and reflects the Commission's continued focus on addressing cost-of-living pressures faced by low-paid workers

🟣 Full Circle HR Resource Update: Mental Health Supports 🟣

We know that supporting people well at work isn’t always simple, especially for small and regional businesses where time, resources and internal support options can feel stretched.

That’s why we’ve been keeping a close eye on free and accessible mental health support pathways available to Victorian workers, sole traders and small business owners.

The Victorian Government funded Worker Mental Health Support Service, previously delivered by TELUS Health, has now transitioned to Beyond Blue, including the new 'Before Blue' early intervention program for workers.

This means free and confidential support continues to be available, including:

✅24/7 immediate mental health support through Beyond Blue
✅ Before Blue for Workers, offering short-term coaching for Victorian workers experiencing stress, overwhelm, burnout or workplace pressure
✅ NewAccess for Small Business Owners, supporting sole traders and small business owners with practical coaching and strategies

For employers, this is a good reminder to update any wellbeing resources, induction materials, posters, policies or internal communications that may still refer to the previous TELUS Health service.

Clear support pathways can make a real difference. They help encourage early help-seeking, support psychologically safer workplaces, and show your team that their wellbeing is being considered in practical ways.

Beyond Blue support remains confidential, and employers are not notified if an employee accesses support.

We’ve summarised the key changes and support options in our blog here:
https://fullcirclehr.com.au/workplace-mental-health-support-services-transitioning-to-beyond-blue/

If you or someone you know needs immediate support:

In an emergency, call 000.
Lifeline: 13 11 14
Beyond Blue: 1300 224 636

Free 24/7 EAP transitions from Telus Health to Beyond blue from April 2026 which also offered a structured early intervention coaching program for workers as well as coaching program for sole traders and small business owners.

Workplace Health & Safety Show Recap

Our OHS Consultant Tania and HR/OHS Coordinator Kait were thrilled to attend the WHS Show across 2 days last week in Melbourne. This was Tania's 3rd year attending, and Kait's very first; and Tania was thrilled to share the experience with her.

Highlights for both were the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's presentations and WorkSafe Victoria's Inspector presentation which did a wonderful job of bringing some levity to a topic that can cause a lot of stress for small business owners - beautifully demonstrating that WorkSafe Inspectors are not scary, and have a primary aim of partnering with small business to increase safety.

As always, we stopped by the Safety Champion stand and caught up with the team and had a great chat with Safety Champion and Action OHS Consulting CEO Craig.

The key topic themes we picked up on this year were the ongoing conversation about the new Psychological Health Regulations and the use of AI in safety. We will cover more on this in the next FCHR newsletter for our Members and Clients.

Today was just what we needed.

Offline, sunny day and a chance to catch our breath after an intensive but really good first half of 2026.

Coming from Childers, Trafalgar, Morwell, Bairnsdale and Kalimna, we all met up with Kait in Sale for a day together to recharge our batteries.

There were antiques, op shops, good food, sunshine, fresh air, gentle walks through the Sale Botanical Gardens, plenty of chats and laughs, and a few fab bargain finds along the way.

It was just really lovely having the whole crew together, our dear friend and colleague Daniel joining us, away from emails, deadlines and all the usual pace of life for a little while.

We feel incredibly lucky to do the work we do and to support the Gippsland businesses we partner with across HR and safety.

But days like today are a good reminder that rest, connection and taking time to recharge really matters too. To support other people well, you need to look after you and your own people well first.

At Full Circle HR, we spend a lot of time supporting other people through busy, messy and very human moments.

And 2026 has already been a big one. Somehow, we are almost halfway through the year, with End of Financial Year, Mid Year Client Reports, new FY projects and planning all well underway.

So our team is taking Monday 11 May to pause together, catch our breath, reconnect and recalibrate.

We’re doing this intentionally. There is a lot we are excited about, and we want to move into the next part of the year with energy, clarity and care.

We know how much continuity matters, especially for our members, so urgent support will still be available as usual via our main line. Anything non-urgent will be picked up when we’re back on Tuesday.

We often remind small businesses that looking after people is both good HR and good safety practice. Workload, wellbeing, fatigue and connection all matter, and they need to be managed intentionally, not just talked about when things get stretched.

This is one small way we are putting that into practice ourselves.

A small pause, taken properly, helps us show up better for the people we support, and step into the rest of the year with purpose.

A brief pause in our regular transmission!

Today, we’re taking a moment to pause and celebrate our wonderful HR & OHS Coordinator, Kait Evans, on the completion of her Certificate IV in Human Resource Management with the Australian HR Institute 🎉

Kaitlyn didn’t do this as part of her employment with Full Circle HR - we can take absolutely no credit here. This was something she committed to in her own time, off her own back, alongside showing up every day with us, and well before us in her previous roles too.

When you consider she’s been studying while stepping into a new role, being a dedicated mama and wife, on top of everything else life throws at us mere mortals, it says everything about who she is: driven, grounded and deeply invested in doing things properly.

And honestly, it’s not the qualification that makes Kaitlyn great at what she does (albeit awesome). She’s always brought years of experience, both here and overseas, a natural alignment to our work that you simply can’t teach, and a level of judgement that has just felt right for our clients and our business from day one. It’s the kind of instinct you just can’t recruit for.

We feel really lucky she chose to work with us.

This milestone is a reflection of the initiative and integrity she brings to continuously building on that already strong foundation. We look forward to where the future takes her.

We’re incredibly proud, genuinely grateful, and so glad to have you as part of the team,

Our biggest congratulations - from your biggest cheerleaders 🤍
