When floodwaters recede, the visible damage is often only the beginning.
Flooding is not unfamiliar to the city of Lismore. In 2022, water levels exceeded 14 metres. Then again in 2025, floodwaters rose above 9.3 metres, impacting the CBD and surrounding residential areas.
However, once the water retreats, the aftermath continues. Flood events frequently leave behind contamination and rapid mould growth across buildings and community infrastructure.
Wash Drones was engaged to assist in restoring the exterior of Lismore Cinema, where significant mould had formed more than nine metres up the facade.
Multiple controlled treatment passes were required to progressively break down the contamination.
After several hours of aerial cleaning and sustained treatment, the building was restored as close to its original condition as possible and, most importantly, returned to a safe and hygienic state.
