๐Ÿšจ CRS 198 , but donโ€™t confuse this with a general CEC draw.

Express Entry draw #440 on September 3 invited just 229 candidates under the Physicians category, covering NOC 31100, 31101 and 31102.

And the trend is getting interesting ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿฉบ Feb 19 โ†’ 391 invitations | CRS 169
๐Ÿฉบ Jun 24 โ†’ 271 invitations | CRS 223
๐Ÿฉบ Sep 3 โ†’ 229 invitations | CRS 198

Compared with June:

๐Ÿ“‰ Invitations dropped by 42 , about 15.5%
๐Ÿ“‰ CRS dropped 25 points
The gap between physician rounds shortened from 125 days to 71 days

That combination matters. Fewer invitations did NOT push the cutoff higher this time. Instead, CRS fell substantially , suggesting the composition of this narrow physician pool played a major role.

The tie-break date was August 6, 2026, only 28 days before the draw, so candidates sitting exactly at CRS 198 did not necessarily need an old profile to make the cutoff.

โš ๏ธ But CRS 198 does not mean CEC candidates generally can expect anything close to 198. Just two days earlier, the September 1 CEC round invited 2,000 candidates at CRS 521.

๐Ÿ“Š The supplied annual benchmark is also almost reached: 122,656 / 123,230 = 99.5%, leaving 574 invitations to match it with 119 days remaining. That may encourage continued targeted or smaller rounds, although annual immigration targets should not be treated as a literal one-for-one ITA ceiling.

If the recent 71โ€“125 day spacing continues, another Physicians-specific round may be more plausible later in the fall rather than immediately , but with only three rounds this year, that remains a trend to watch, not a reliable schedule.

Want your own CRS, NOC and Express Entry strategy assessed in context? Consider booking a paid appointment with an Immigration Consultant (RCIC).

Canada is a vast country, and how people get around depends on where they live. Big cities rely on public transit, while smaller towns and rural areas depend more on cars. For newcomers, understanding Canadaโ€™s transportation culture, and the etiquette that goes with it, helps make daily life easier, safer, and more affordable.

Major cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver have subways, buses, and trains.

Transit is often the fastest way to commute downtown.

Families and students benefit from discounted or free fares for children.

Apps and websites help plan trips and track real-time arrivals.

Public transit is reliable but busiest during rush hours.

In suburbs and rural areas, cars are essential.

Driving rules are strict, with heavy fines for speeding, drinking and driving, or distracted driving.

Winter driving requires snow tires and extra caution.

Many families own at least one car for commuting, errands, and road trips.

Car ownership is part of Canadian life outside big cities.

Cities are building more bike lanes for safety.

Cycling is popular in spring, summer, and fall.

Helmets are mandatory for children and strongly encouraged for adults.

Walking is also encouraged, many neighborhoods are pedestrian-friendly.

Active transportation promotes both health and sustainability.

Buses (Megabus, Rider Express, Maritime Bus) connect cities affordably.

VIA Rail offers scenic train journeys, especially popular for families.

Domestic flights are used for long distances, but can be costly.

Canadaโ€™s size means choosing the right mode of travel matters.

Always line up when boarding buses or trains, no pushing.

Give up your seat to seniors, pregnant women, or people with disabilities.

Keep noise low, loud phone calls are frowned upon.

Avoid blocking doors and always wait for passengers to exit before boarding.

Respect for others is part of Canadian commuting culture.

Transportation affects daily routines, from work to school.

Knowing rules and etiquette avoids fines and misunderstandings.

Families can save money by combining car use with public transit and biking.

CEC DRAW: 2,000 invitations at CRS 521 ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Express Entry Draw #439 was held September 1, 2026, the first Canadian Experience Class draw of September.

Hereโ€™s what changed from the previous CEC draw ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ“จ Invitations: 1,000 โ†’ 2,000, doubled
๐Ÿ“‰ CRS: 523 โ†’ 521, down only 2 points
๐Ÿ“… Gap between CEC draws: 14 days
Tie-break cut-off: August 18, 2026 at 03:24:13 UTC
๐Ÿ“Š Latest 8 CEC draw average CRS: 518

That size-vs-CRS movement matters.

Even though invitations doubled, CRS only moved down 2 points. At 521, todayโ€™s cut-off remains 3 points ABOVE the latest 8-draw average.

CEC activity in 2026 is still massive:
๐Ÿ”ฅ 51,250 invitations
๐Ÿ”ฅ 15 CEC draws
๐Ÿ”ฅ 41.86% of all 2026 invitations in the supplied data

CEC and French-speaking draws together represent more than 83% of invitations so far, a major clue about where Express Entry activity has been concentrated.

Another detail: the tie-break profile was only 14 days old, compared with some previous CEC draws where qualifying profiles dated back many months. That suggests plenty of relatively recent high-scoring profiles remain competitive around this CRS range.

๐Ÿ“Could CRS fall below 520 next?

Possible, but draw SIZE will matter. Recent history shows that the biggest CEC rounds created much stronger downward pressure: 8,000 invitations reached CRS 511 in January, while Februaryโ€™s 6,000-invitation round reached 508.

At 2,000 invitations, expecting a dramatic CRS drop may be premature.

If your CRS is sitting near the current cut-off, consider reviewing your timing and options with an RCIC instead of relying only on the next draw.

Canada is a young country by world standards, but its architecture and landmarks tell a rich story of history, culture, and identity. From Indigenous longhouses to modern skyscrapers, Canadian buildings reflect the blending of traditions, influences, and innovation. For newcomers, visiting these landmarks is a way to learn about Canadaโ€™s past and present.

Canadaโ€™s political heart, Parliament Hill, overlooks the Ottawa River.

Built in Gothic Revival style, it features pointed arches, towers, and intricate stone carvings.

The Peace Tower stands tall as a national symbol.

In summer, the Changing of the Guard and evening light shows attract thousands of visitors.

Parliament Hill reflects both Canadaโ€™s democratic values and European architectural influence.

Once the worldโ€™s tallest free-standing structure, the CN Tower is a symbol of modern Canada.

Observation decks provide panoramic views of Toronto and Lake Ontario.

The EdgeWalk lets adventurous visitors walk outside, 356 meters above ground.

Lit with colorful LEDs at night, itโ€™s one of Canadaโ€™s most photographed landmarks.

For newcomers, the CN Tower represents innovation and urban life.

Perched above the St. Lawrence River, the Chรขteau Frontenac is often called the most photographed hotel in the world.

Built in the late 19th century, it reflects French and European influences.

It is part of Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Its castle-like design makes visitors feel as if theyโ€™ve stepped into Europe.

For many, itโ€™s a reminder of Canadaโ€™s French heritage and historic ties.

Before European settlers, Indigenous peoples built structures adapted to their environment:

โ–ช๏ธ Longhouses (Iroquois) housed extended families.

Tipis (Plains peoples) were portable and suited to nomadic life.

Inuit igloos provided insulation during Arctic winters.

Today, Indigenous architecture inspires modern designs that respect tradition while serving new purposes.

Canada also embraces contemporary design:

โ–ช๏ธ Vancouverโ€™s glass towers reflect its natural surroundings.

โ–ช๏ธ Montrealโ€™s Habitat 67 is a world-famous example of modern urban living.

โ–ช๏ธ Calgaryโ€™s Bow Building combines innovation with sustainability.

Canadian cities continue to grow with eco-friendly, creative architecture.

Landmarks are more than tourist attractions, theyโ€™re part of Canadaโ€™s story. They:

Represent history and identity.

Bring together culture, politics, and innovation.

Provide newcomers with a sense of place and belonging.

Visit Parliament Hill in summer for free events.

Take a family photo at the CN Tower, itโ€™s a Canadian tradition.

Explore Old Quebec to feel Canadaโ€™s European heritage.

Learn about Indigenous structures through museums and cultural centers.

Immigration is about more than moving to a new place, itโ€™s about connecting with the stories that built it. Canadaโ€™s landmarks and architecture reflect history, culture, and innovation. Our team helps newcomers not only settle but also explore and belong.

๐Ÿ“‰ EXPRESS ENTRY PNP CRS JUST DROPPED 63 POINTS.

Draw #438 on August 31 invited 562 Provincial Nominee candidates at CRS 697.

Compare that with August 17:
๐Ÿ“Š CRS: 760 โ†’ 697
๐Ÿ“จ Invitations: 442 โ†’ 562
๐Ÿ“ˆ Draw size: +27%
๐Ÿ”ฅ Lowest CRS among the latest 8 PNP draws
๐Ÿฅˆ Second-largest PNP draw among those 8 rounds

This is also the THIRD Provincial Nominee draw of August: Aug. 4, Aug. 17 and Aug. 31.

But before anyone sees โ€œ697โ€ and assumes Express Entry CRS is crashingโ€ฆ thereโ€™s an important detail. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Provincial nomination adds 600 CRS points. PNP scores should NOT be compared directly with Canadian Experience or category-based draws.

Another clue is the tie-break date: April 12, 2026 , 141 days before the draw. The previous PNP round used a cutoff only 10 days old. That suggests todayโ€™s invitations reached much deeper into the nominated candidate pool.

๐Ÿ“Œ Bigger 2026 picture:
๐Ÿ“จ PNP: 7,961 invitations
๐Ÿ”„ 17 draws , 34% of all Express Entry rounds
๐Ÿ“Š Yet only 6.61% of all 2026 invitations

French-language + Canadian Experience rounds still dominate, accounting for about 82.8% of invitations combined.

Our invitation tracker is now at 120,427 / 123,230 , 97.7% of the annual benchmark.

If you need advice based on your actual profile rather than one headline number, a paid appointment with an RCIC at RED Immigration Consulting can help you assess the options strategically.

Managing money in a new country can be overwhelming, but Canadaโ€™s banking and finance system is designed to be secure, accessible, and supportive of newcomers. From opening your first bank account to building credit for future goals like buying a home, understanding Canadian finance is essential for long-term success.

Newcomers can open an account with just a passport, immigration documents, and proof of address.

Major banks: RBC, TD, Scotiabank, BMO, CIBC.

Many banks offer newcomer packages with free banking for 12 months.

Types of accounts: Chequing account: For everyday transactions (bills, debit purchases).

Savings account: For storing money and earning small interest.

Building credit is one of the most important steps for newcomers.

A credit score shows how reliable you are at repaying loans.

โ–ช๏ธ Scores range from 300โ€“900; a good score starts around 650+.

Credit cards help build history if paid on time.

A strong score is required for renting, mortgages, and even some jobs.

Tip: Always pay at least the minimum balance to avoid penalties.

๐ƒ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐…๐ข๐ง๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฌ

Debit cards connect directly to your bank account for payments.

Interac e-Transfer allows instant money transfers between accounts.

Online and mobile banking are widely used.

ATMs are available nationwide, but some charge fees.

Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP): Helps save for retirement, with tax benefits.

Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA): Save and invest money tax-free.

โ–ช๏ธ RESP (Registered Education Savings Plan): Parents save for childrenโ€™s education with government contributions.

These tools help newcomers grow wealth and plan for the future.

Many newcomers send money home.

Banks, money transfer services, and apps like Wise or Remitly make this easy.

Compare fees and exchange rates to save money.

Strong financial habits help newcomers settle faster.

Before Canada became a nation in 1867, Indigenous peoples lived on this land for thousands of years. The First Nations, Inuit, and Mรฉtis created vibrant cultures, languages, and traditions that continue today. For newcomers, learning about Indigenous peoples is not only educational, itโ€™s a way to understand Canadaโ€™s true roots and to participate in reconciliation.

Canada recognizes three main groups of Indigenous peoples:

โ–ช๏ธ First Nations: The largest group, with over 600 communities across Canada.

Inuit: Indigenous peoples of the Arctic regions (Nunavut, northern Quebec, Labrador, Northwest Territories).

โ–ช๏ธ Mรฉtis: People of mixed Indigenous and European heritage, with their own culture and identity.

Together, they make up over 1.6 million people in Canada today.

Indigenous peoples speak over 70 languages, including Cree, Inuktitut, and Ojibwe.

Traditions include storytelling, drumming, beadwork, and ceremonies tied to the land.

Elders play an important role in passing down cultural knowledge.

Many Indigenous languages are being revitalized through education programs.

Powwows are community gatherings celebrating Indigenous culture.

Include traditional dances, drumming, regalia, and food.

Open to everyone, newcomers are welcome to attend and learn.

They are both cultural and spiritual, bringing together generations.

Canada continues to work toward reconciliation, repairing relationships between Indigenous peoples and the country.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) documented the legacy of residential schools.

Calls to Action encourage education, justice, and respect for Indigenous rights.

Newcomers are part of reconciliation by learning and respecting Indigenous history.
