I still get daily goosebumps in my work. These moments of trust, kindness, love and respect are what it's all about.
My student has been working with the horses for a few years now and one thing she has taken on is introducing horses to the massager. The massager helps the horses in the same way it does us, releasing tension in the muscles etc. bringing in a sense of calm and relaxation.
Yesterday Sarah and Jack had their first experience with the massager. My student created a plan that introduced them to it step by step ensuring a safe space for the horses to experience it with the opportunity to communicate whether or not they enjoyed the sensation. Both horses let my student know with body language where they felt comfortable having the massager touch their bodies and at what point they felt like their experience had come to a close. Sarah loved the experience with a preference of being massaged all day and night. Jack did enjoy his massage but did let us know that he was finished and required a snack.
We will continue this experience for Jack and Sarah, ensuring they have full astronomy every step of the way.
Watch for the video of Sarah being very clear with her choices with the massager. Sarah enjoyed it so much my student did an experiment to see if Sarah would love a second massage without a halter on and boy oh boy Sarah was clear.
