Gold Discovery Hunt Resumes in Chile as Copper-Gold Drill Targets Take Shape
Highlights:
- Survey resumed: Gelum resumed its 2,600-hectare geophysical survey at Las Tinajas on October 20, with completion expected in about three weeks.
- Drill targets: Magnetotelluric and induced polarization surveys are defining copper-gold porphyry targets before drilling begins.
Gold potential: Past drilling returned 88 m at 1.39 g/t gold, and the Northeast Breccia target now extends 700 m across.
- Mineralization is open at depth and laterally.
Copper-moly anomaly: The Southeast Anomaly returned 75 m averaging 730 ppm copper and 65 m averaging 107 ppm molybdenum, and will be covered by the ongoing survey.
- Neighbouring project: Rio Tinto and Codelcoโs Nuevo Cobre project surrounds Las Tinajas. Gelumโs option to earn 100% includes US$9M cash, a US$2.5M conditional payment, and US$3M in exploration spending with at least 4,000 m of drilling.
