For more than 150 years, I. H. Mathers has been an important part of Halifax’s business community. Founded in 1872 and still family owned, the company continues to look ahead while staying rooted in partnership. From marine and logistics services to supplying skilled personnel across Canada, I. H. Mathers has evolved alongside the region — navigating global disruption, industrial change, and new economic opportunities.

A partnership first mindset is what led I. H. Mathers to work with Halifax Partnership, helping to build new connections, navigate industry shifts, and position itself for continued growth.

“Every call is met with a simple question: What can we do to help? Whether through business development or strategic introductions, the Partnership has consistently added value.” Brian Lane, CEO, I. H. Mathers (retired)
