🚧Michigan Department of Transportation, Town of Adrian

A heavily traveled concrete roadway had become a persistent problem. Previous repairs using hot mastic and cold mix simply didn’t hold up under the volume and stress of traffic.

This manhole repair originally completed by Matt Stiller in August of 2024, continues to perform exceptionally well today.

Located in a busy industrial area, the manhole is subjected to constant heavy truck traffic, including turning movements at the base of a steep hill.

Despite these challenging conditions, the repair remains in excellent shape, a true testament to quality workmanship and durable solutions.

🚧Matthew Kinson completed a catch basin repair demonstration with the Town of Amherst, NY highlighting a faster, more efficient approach to municipal maintenance.

👷Traditionally, their team relies on standard concrete, which requires extended road closures and multiple site visits to complete the repair and reopen to traffic. In this case, the repair was completed by 10:30 AM and immediately reopened, eliminating the need for return trips to remove traffic control.

🚥A key point of interest was the performance of the mortar buoy (inflatable form), which enables a complete fill beneath the frame. The mortar buoy creates a tight internal seal within the chamber, helping prevent water ingress, a common and costly issue in catch basin deterioration.

🚨Reducing downtime, minimizing disruption, and improving long-term performance are all critical for municipalities, and this demo delivered on all fronts.

🚧Matthew Kinson recently led a live demonstration at Whirlpool State Park in New York, showcasing our innovative approach to drainage inlet repairs.

Traditionally, these repairs require standard concrete and a steel plate covering for 2–3 weeks, making it impractical during peak tourist season due to high traffic volumes. With QC10, the team was able to complete the repair and reopen the road before lunch, eliminating the need for steel plating and avoiding a return visit.

This demonstration highlighted how fast-setting solutions can significantly reduce downtime, improve safety, and keep high-traffic areas accessible when it matters most.👷

🚧Niagara Falls, ON

Matthew Morgado recently conducted a a manhole demonstration with the addition of a RimRiser frame with the City of Niagara Falls, giving their team a hands-on look at how the system supports fast and reliable manhole repairs. Within just a couple of hours, the frame was brought back to grade and securely set using our manhole repair system.

🚧Matthew Kinson returned to the City of Cortland several weeks after their initial manhole repair demonstration, where the site continues to perform well and hold strong.

Following the success of the manhole repair system demo, the city expressed interest in further protecting their infrastructure by sealing the joints. Matthew went back to demonstrate Flow-Fix cold-applied mastic, delivering a fast and effective solution.

The application was completed and reopened to traffic within 20 minutes, with joints fully sealed to prevent water ingress and reduce the risk of future deterioration.

It is always rewarding to see proven solutions deliver both immediate results and long-term performance for our municipal partners.

🚨New York Thruway trialled Flow Fix, our cold-applied mastic for sealing joints during patching work on a busy section of the Thruway in Orange County. Matthew Kinson was on site for the demo, supporting the application and showcasing the product in action.

Typically, hot mastic would be used, requiring a second night on site due to the time needed to heat the material and allow it to cure before reopening to traffic. 🦺

Flow Fix can be mixed on site as needed and reopened to traffic within 20 minutes, allowing both the patching and joint sealing to be completed in a single evening.
