We have entered into a definitive merger agreement with Seraxis to form a new company focused on the clinical advancement of a differentiated approach to islet cell replacement.

By combining our Cell Pouch Bio-hybrid Organ with Seraxis’ stem cell-derived pancreatic islet cells and in-house cGMP manufacturing, we believe we are uniquely positioned to reduce or eliminate chronic immunosuppression and address key challenges in islet cell replacement therapy for to deliver greater impact for the communities we serve.

We’re thrilled to announce that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted orphan drug designation for our autologous islet transplantation for the prevention of diabetes due to pancreatectomy, a procedure often leading to the development of Type 3c diabetes ( ).

T3cD is a secondary form of often resulting from a pancreatectomy for patients with chronic pancreatitis or damage to the pancreas. This designation underscores the potential of our program to address a critical gap in care for people living with T3cD.
