Press Release
Fur Harvesters Auction Inc of North Bay is proud to welcome Kent and Kelly Maitland to the FHA team.
Kent is a seasoned trapper himself and has been an active big game guide for many years. During these years he has built countless bridges and strong bonds with the BC trapping community.
This coming season Kent will be working alongside Keith Watson, our long standing Ambassador and agent for BC.
Keith wishes to retire after the 2027 season and welcomes wholeheartedly the opportunity to work alongside Kent in this year of transition. Starting in 2028 the Maitlands will be the official agent of record for the great fur producing province of British Columbia and head up the all important fur depot for Fur Harvesters Auction Inc.
Picking solid, sound, qualified, honest and committed people is paramount in running a successful business. The Maitlands, like Keith Watson, have all of these traits in spades. So please join myself, Keith Watson and the entire FHA crew in welcoming Kent and Kelly Maitland to the greatest wild fur auction team in the world.
Respectfully,
Mark Downey
Chief Executive Officer
Fur Harvesters Auction Inc.

After 10 years as a trapper and 7 years as a fur buyer with GFW, I am excited to announce that I will be taking on a new role as a fur depot operator for Fur Harvesters Auction Inc.
Over the past 15 years, I have also worked as a guide for both moose and bear hunts throughout British Columbia, building strong connections within the outdoors and trapping community. In addition, I proudly served 4 years on the British Columbia Trappers Association board as the Region 5 Director, helping advocate for and support trappers across the province.
This coming year, I will be working alongside Keith Watson as he prepares for retirement, before taking over as the main depot operator in the years ahead. I am truly looking forward to this next chapter and the opportunity to continue serving the trapping community of British Columbia through Fur Harvesters Auction.
Joining me in this new venture is my wife, Kelly Maitland, whose passion for fur handling, craftsmanship, and the outdoors has led her to build her company, Furever Yours. Together, we are excited to grow this opportunity and become a trusted part of the trapping community for years to come.
We look forward to meeting and working with trappers across the province in the future.
