Yesterday’s Labour Day parade was a chance to celebrate the people who make Canada work.
Thank you to our UBC Millwrights for the skill and pride you bring to your work, and to the families who support you.
That solidarity is worth celebrating all year long.

Labour Day belongs to the people who keep industry moving.
Twelve Locals. Thousands of millwrights. One standard of work, wherever the job takes them.

Today, we celebrate every member who installs, maintains, and repairs the equipment this country relies on, and the generations of workers who fought for the rights we carry forward.

Happy Labour Day from the Millwright Regional Council.

Last week, Millwright Local 2309 proudly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of our new Training Centre in Port Hope, Ontario.
This exciting milestone would not have been possible without the tremendous support of Minister David Piccini, the Millwright Regional Council, the Municipality of Port Hope and Mayor Olena Hankivsky, signatory contractor Halco, our local First Nations communities, Ontario Power Generation, and—most importantly—our dedicated membership.
This Training Centre represents an investment in the future of our trade, our members, and the communities we serve. We are incredibly proud of what we are building together and excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.
Great things are on the horizon for Millwright Local 2309, and we are grateful to be part of this next chapter.
