Today is Powley Day, marking the anniversary of the landmark Métis rights victory at the Supreme Court of Canada, R. v. Powely - the Hunt for Justice.

At TIPI Legacy HR+, we honour the work, the courage, and the sacrifice made by Roddy Powley and his family. On Sept 19, 2003 the Supreme Court of Canada recognized the constitutional rights of Métis people under Section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982.

Powley Day is a reminder that the fight for justice is not only historical, it's ongoing. Thank you to the Powely family and everyone who continues to advocate for Métis sovereignty, self-governance, and cultural resilience.
