I like to think of my work as sculpture.

Without the body, the focus shifts to the object itself — its proportions, its construction, and the material that gives it form.

ACORDEÓN is made from caña flecha, a palm traditionally woven by artisans in Colombia. I was interested in exploring how a material rooted in craft could be transformed into something more architectural, almost like a structure in motion.

For this piece, I worked with repetition, layering, and rhythm. The brim folds and unfolds in successive waves, creating a sense of movement while the overall form remains structured and defined. Each layer creates a different line, shadow, and proportion, almost as if the hat were expanding and contracting like an accordion.

I am always drawn to the tension between structure and movement — between clean, architectural shapes and materials that remain organic and alive. Caña flecha has that quality. It can be precise and rigid, but it also carries the irregularity and sensitivity of something made by hand.

I often think of hats less as fashion and more as objects. Maybe that’s why I am drawn to presenting them this way, allowing them to exist on their own, outside the body and outside the traditional idea of an accessory.

Somewhere between design, craft, and sculpture.

Maybe a hat can be more than something we wear.
Maybe it can simply exist as an object in its own right.

This collection has been a journey of questioning, observing, unlearning, and creating.
A journey of looking at the world around us and asking what it means to feel protected in times of change.
Every shape, every line, every material became part of that conversation - connecting ancestral knowledge with a vision of the future.
It has taken time, patience, uncertainty, and a lot of faith to bring it to life.
The Geometry of Protection is not only a collection.
It is a reflection of the world we are living in and of the ways we choose to move through it.

The future of design is not about building more.

Perhaps it is about learning how to inhabit the world more consciously.

Because true protection is not found in the walls we build.

It is found in the relationship we choose to have with the planet that shelters us.

Today, I’m trading the endless scroll for a moment of presence.

Creating a collection to present in Paris while Colombia is going through one of its most painful moments has been one of the greatest emotional challenges of my life.

Because I have not been untouched by this tragedy ❤️‍🩹

None of us have.

The earthquake didn’t only bring down buildings.

It exposed something much deeper: our fragility.

And it reminded me that behind every face, there is a story we know nothing about.

A private grief.

An invisible battle.

A silent heartbreak.

I’ve realized that rebuilding a country will require much more than concrete and infrastructure.

It will require empathy.

More compassion.

More humanity.

I will continue creating.

Not because I want to look away, but because continuing to create is my way of resisting despair and choosing hope.

My wish for everyone going through a difficult time is simple:

May you find the strength to keep going.
May you feel supported.
And may you never forget that even after the darkest night, light always finds its way back 🙏🏻🤍✨

We don’t sell online. And that’s intentional.

A hat is never just an accessory.

It is texture, weight, craftsmanship, movement, and the feeling it creates when you place it on your head for the very first time.

At WOMA, every piece is handcrafted, and we believe these creations deserve to be experienced with all the senses.

This is why our collections are not available online.

Instead, we collaborate with selected boutiques around the world, where every hat can be seen, touched, and truly appreciated.

You can find all our retail locations in the Stockists section on our website.
