SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator Top Startup Accelerator that's pushing innovation to the limit right in the heart of Germany. It is financed by investors and its use for established companies.

“SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator” is an integrated part of the overall CEIM concept of HHL. Located on the creative and inspiring area of the Leipzig’s cotton mill (Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei) it will be established at the beginning of 2015. Besides access to required infrastructure (co-working offices) founding and innovation teams benefit from intensive coaching and consulting as well as mentorin

g, from HHL’s excellent networks of investors and entrepreneurs, from supporting service providers and from the opportunities to exchange experiences internationally. The unique idea of “SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator” is that this platform can not only be used by startups but also by established companies. The focus is on innovative, internationally scalable business ideas. The program is limited to a maximum of 6 months at no charge and with no equity holding. Moreover, there is the opportunity of using additional other office spaces on Leipzig’s cotton mill to foster the further growth of the company. It is open for business concepts from anywhere, not only from HHL.

🔥The Summer School for Diverse Startups is back. 🔥

What started as an initiative to improve access to the startup ecosystem has grown into a proven program. Now entering its 6th edition. Every year, founders, mentors, and ecosystem partners come together in 📍 to support startups from underrepresented backgrounds.

During this one-week program, you’ll work on advancing your business. From refining your model to exploring funding opportunities and strengthening your pitch. Expect hands-on workshops, 1:1 sessions, and mentoring by experienced founders and investors.

The next cohort takes place July 20–24, 2026 in Leipzig.

SpinLab alumni startup LipoCheck is rethinking how lipedema, a condition affecting millions of women is diagnosed and treated. By combining deep medical expertise with digital solutions, LipoCheck enables faster, structured assessments through tele-diagnostics and supports patients throughout their entire care journey.

Vireo Ventures has led the funding round in Einklang, joined by SIVentures, Smart Eco Investments, HEIMATBOOST, Angel Invest and DnA Ventures.

The helps mid-sized industrial businesses reduce soaring ⚡electricity costs by combining dynamic tariffs, on-site battery storage and smart energy controls into one integrated system. Its platform automatically shifts consumption to times when solar and wind power are abundant and prices are low, stores energy when it’s cheapest, and reduces costly peak loads. ➡️The result is up to 40% cost savings, greater price stability and more energy independence.

With the fresh capital, Einklang plans to scale to 100 customer sites by 2026 and further expand its battery-optimised tariff mode.

From the newest class of SpinLab startups in Leipzig comes .

Jaw disorders are far more common than most people realize. Millions of individuals suffer from temporomandibular disorders (TMD), bruxism (teeth grinding), and chronic jaw tension, often without receiving adequate diagnosis or treatment. 🤕

Developed in close collaboration with dentists and physiotherapists, JawBuddy has created a 📱digital self-therapy app that supports patients directly via their smartphone. The app provides guided jaw exercises, targeted muscle relaxation techniques and structured training programs designed to reduce.

This year, our Team Day took us to Dresden. For the first time, colleagues from SpinLab, RootCamp, ExciteLab and BITROAD came together at our newest location. A great good moment to pause and reflect before heading into the final stretch of the year.

Many succesful projects have moved forward over the past year. This progress is built on close collaboration and a great deal of work that often happens in the background. Taking time together made it possible to recognize this effort and the people behind it. We are grateful for the commitment across the SpinLab Group and for how the team continues to grow. Minister President of Saxony took the time to visit us at SpinLab. It gave us the opportunity not only to address our pain points, but also to share concrete ideas on how the situation can be improved for startups in Saxony.

Founders repeatedly raised the same turning point: the gap between early support and true scaling capacity. Seed funding and ecosystem infrastructure work well, but once startups need more capital, the pipeline thins. For many teams, this is the moment they leave 📍 , not because they want to, but because they have to.

Slow IP transfer processes make it harder for spin-offs to scale and bring their innovations into real-world application. At the same time, startups struggle to win their first public-sector reference projects, and large state-subsidized tech settlements often bring infrastructure but too little direct innovation investment into the local ecosystem.

➡️Our discussion focused on how these structural barriers can be reduced so that promising companies stop leaving at the exact moment they become globally competitive.

Thanks for the constructive exchange and the openness throughout the conversation. We hope that our points will be heard and considered at the political level. 🙏

What a journey. Over the past six months, our 19th class has pushed, built, tested and grown in ways that make us incredibly proud. Wrapping up the program is always a bittersweet moment. 😭You spend half a year working side by side, challenging assumptions, sharpening ideas, celebrating wins and suddenly it’s time to say goodbye. But at SpinLab, it’s never a goodbye for good. Once you’re part of the SpinLab, you stay part of it. We’re excited to see how each team moves forward from here.
