Turned out nice again.. 'Fun' day exploring the nether regions of Yr Wyddfa today to discuss future vegetation management. Quite wet, but we got to see the juniper at around 600m

More work collecting root sections for propagation of aspen last week, this time on Tryfan

We were out doing some practical conservation tree planting on Tuesday - planting clones of a struggling Aspen at 1500' half way up Cadair Idris. Weather was a bit chilly, but better than the torrential rain the day the day before. We needed to find a planting site that sheep could not access, hence requiring some ropework & climbing skills.

Some different 'work' over the last few days: surveying feral goat numbers in the Rhinogydd. Gorgeous weather conditions, wispy clouds & T-shirt weather on the summits.

We've just begun transferring some root propagation material to their new winter home - a nicely heated and well-lit greenhouse at Bangor university farm, Henfaes :) We should be able to continue producing lots of new planting stock over the winter.

WRL assisting staff from the National Botanic garden of Wales with collection of wild apple (Malus sylvestris) for the millenium seed bank. Looks like a good year for fruit this year!

Excellent day on Ynys Mon yesterday collecting cherry (for their seed). Just over 20kg of fruit!
