Traditional lone worker systems are struggling to keep pace with the demands of modern industrial and multi-site environments.

Businesses are increasingly looking for more than just panic alarms. They need better indoor location visibility, faster incident response, operational communication, and devices workers actually want to carry.

In our latest blog, we explore how modern platforms like Aspect Link are helping organisations combine lone worker protection with Push-to-Talk communication, indoor positioning, and responder coordination to create a more connected approach to worker safety.

Learn how modern lone worker platforms combine safety alarms, indoor location, and Push-to-Talk (PoC) to improve worker protection across complex sites.

A huge well done to Toby on completing his Level 4 Sales Executive apprenticeship course!
And an even bigger congratulations on his promotion to Regional Sales Manager — thoroughly deserved.
From day one, Toby has fitted into the business brilliantly. His maturity, confidence, willingness to get involved, and ability to pick things up quickly have really stood out, and it’s been great to see his progress throughout his apprenticeship journey.
We’ve got no doubt he’s going to be a huge success in his new role and we’re excited to see what’s next for him.
Well done Toby — you should be really proud of yourself!

Still relying on radios to run your events?

For years, they’ve been the go-to for keeping teams connected. But for large, outdoor or multi-location events, they often come with hidden challenges—cost, setup complexity, and coverage limitations.

We’ve been working with event organisers running large-scale events across the UK and Europe, and we’re seeing a shift.

More teams are moving towards Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) as a simpler, more flexible way to coordinate staff, safety teams and medical responders.

No infrastructure to deploy.
No repeaters to install.
Just instant communication, wherever there’s coverage.

What’s interesting is this isn’t just relevant for sporting events. The same challenges exist at festivals, large venues and multi-site events.

If you’re reviewing how your teams communicate, this is worth a look.

Another successful project delivered at Hexcel Duxford, expanding their existing radio system to support future growth.

By adding extra repeaters and implementing XPT, the system is now set up to handle more users and keep teams communicating smoothly—even as demand increases.

Great work by the field team on site—Peter, Mat, Jose and Ramesh.

And thanks to Andrew Wilson for the continued support throughout.

When a pollution incident, pump failure or sewer overflow occurs, water utilities must respond quickly. But coordinating field engineers across large networks isn't always easy.

Many organisations still rely on smartphones, calls or messaging apps to communicate with operational teams. In noisy environments and during time-critical incidents, these methods can lead to missed calls, delayed messages and slower responses.

Push-to-Talk over Cellular offers a more effective way for teams to stay connected and coordinate incident response across multiple locations.

In our latest article, we explore the communication challenges water utilities face and how Push-to-Talk can help operational teams respond faster and more effectively.

With the PSTN network being switched off, many organisations are reviewing their legacy analogue lines. While replacing desk phones is straightforward, some systems are far more complex to migrate.

Take lift emergency phones, for example.

These units are often custom-built to fit the lift panel, meaning replacing them with digital alternatives can be difficult and costly. New hardware may not fit existing spaces, and running new cabling through lift shafts can quickly become an expensive project.

However, this is where smart alternative PSTN replacement solutions come in.
Instead of replacing the entire system, our engineer Danny installed a 4G data sim solution that replaces the analogue line while keeping the existing lift emergency phone and cabling in place. The result? A quick, cost-effective upgrade that ensures the lift emergency phone continues to work long after the PSTN switch-off.

✔ No major lift modifications
✔ No expensive recabling
✔ Reliable connectivity using the mobile network
✔ Save money when you switch

Great work by Danny making the transition to digital simple and practical for our customers.

We’re proud to share how we helped Rossie, a Scottish charity supporting young people in secure care, improve communication and staff safety across its campus.

Rossie needed a modern solution to replace an ageing alarm system while also enabling staff to stay connected and respond quickly when incidents occur.

ANT Telecom installed an Ascom IP DECT system that now provides:

✅ Reliable site-wide communication
✅ Silent alarms with location tracking
✅ Integration with fire alarms and other safety systems
✅ Easy-to-use handsets for staff across the campus

The result is a communication system that supports both staff safety and the smooth running of daily operations.

Frontline safety in utilities isn’t just about detecting risk — it’s about ensuring alarms lead to action.

Our latest opinion piece, published by Professional Security Magazine, explores why digital transformation often struggles at the frontline and why effective alarm management is just as important as detection when protecting lone workers in complex environments.

The article has already been featured across multiple industry publications and highlights how utilities can improve safety, visibility and response when incidents occur.

Most freezer failures don’t happen when people are watching.

They happen overnight — when buildings are unmanned and nobody can see what’s going on.

Manual temperature checks don’t help here.
And even some monitoring systems still leave teams blind if the data can only be viewed on-site.

We’ve written a short piece on why freezer monitoring needs remote visibility, not just alarms — especially out of hours.

Manual freezer checks and locally stored data leave teams blind overnight. Learn why freezer monitoring needs remote access to prevent unnecessary callouts
