Yesterday, Mark travelled to London with Akhil and Christina to present to the judging panel for The Dext Innovation Award at the The Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards.

As finalists, the team had the chance to share why Aquatrust is modernising the way Legionella control is managed – using remote monitoring, digital reporting and smarter data to help clients manage compliance more proactively.

The presentation took place at the Four Seasons Hotel, in front of a panel of four judges.

A big thank you to Mark, Akhil and Christina for representing Aquatrust so well. We’re proud of the work behind the nomination and pleased to have shared our plans with the judges. 💙

We’re proud to be building our partnership with Bradford College and helping students learn more about the opportunities available in water hygiene.

In this article, Jayjay shares more about a recent session with plumbing students and why supporting the next generation matters to Aquatrust.

It was great to be back at Bradford College’s Trinity Green campus with Alex Denham to talk to Level 3 Plumbing students about what we do at Aquatrust and where a career in water hygiene could take them. I spoke about Aquatrust and the specialist areas our team works in.

We were pleased to welcome Level 3 Plumbing students at Bradford College’s Trinity Green campus for an introduction to Aquatrust and Legionella Awareness Training.

Jayjay, our Operations Director, shared more about Aquatrust, the work we do and the range of career opportunities available in water hygiene. Our Risk Assessor, Alex, then delivered training covering where Legionella can be found, who is most at risk and how risks can be controlled in building water systems.

It was great to see such a focused and engaged group. Several students were keen to learn more about work experience and careers in the sector – a really positive sign for the future of plumbing and water hygiene.

Every student who completed the session will receive a Legionella Awareness certificate to add to their CV. We hope it gives them useful knowledge for their future careers and a clearer view of the opportunities within our industry.

Thank you to Katie Priestley, Ben Houlbrook and Adam Brough for arranging the session, and well done to all the students who took part. We look forward to continuing our work with Bradford College.

A Legionella risk assessment looks at your water systems, finds where the risks are and sets out what you need to do about them.

It’s a legal requirement under the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L8 and the starting point for any water safety programme.
