“Someone else will deal with it.”
We’ve all said it.
There’s a box in the way.
Someone else will move it.
There’s a fault showing on something.
Someone else will report it.
There’s a door that doesn’t quite close properly.
Someone else will mention it.
And then, eventually:
“I thought someone had already sorted that?”
The problem is, sometimes everyone thinks someone else is dealing with it.
And nobody is.
We see this surprisingly often in fire safety.
Not because people don’t care.
Because responsibility gets assumed rather than owned.
If something doesn't look right, don't assume someone else has noticed.
Say something.
It might take 30 seconds.
And it could matter a lot more than you think.
