The training continues! 🥾⛰️ - Link in Comments

As part of our preparation for the National 3 Peaks Challenge, members of the AM Specialists Group Ltd team have recently completed training climbs on Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

Back in March, the team tackled Scafell Pike in challenging sub-zero temperatures, testing both our resilience and determination in demanding winter conditions. More recently, we returned to Snowdon, taking on the mountain twice, once during daylight hours and again in complete darkness, navigating the trails with head torches and experiencing first-hand the conditions we may face during the National 3 Peaks Challenge.

These training hikes have been invaluable in helping us build endurance, refine our planning, test our equipment, and prepare both physically and mentally for the challenge ahead. From freezing temperatures to night-time ascents, every climb has pushed us further and brought us one step closer to our goal.

We're undertaking the National 3 Peaks Challenge in support of the Royal British Legion, a charity that provides lifelong support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Their work has a lasting impact on countless lives, and we're proud to be raising funds and awareness for such an important cause.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. Your donations and encouragement continue to motivate us as we prepare for the challenge ahead.

We're proud to support the incredible work of Essex Search & Rescue through the donation of 12 emergency response kit bags to help their dedicated volunteers continue making a difference across Essex.

Following the donation, we were invited to meet some of the ESAR team, who kindly gave us a fascinating demonstration of the equipment and explained how it is used during search operations to help locate and assist vulnerable missing people throughout the county.

As a charity funded solely through donations and contributions, ESAR relies on the support of local organisations and communities to maintain its vital training, equipment, communications, and operational capabilities.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who took the time to show us their work and provide a valuable insight into the important role they play in keeping our communities safe. We are honoured to contribute, in a small way, to helping them continue their lifesaving work.

During Sun Awareness Week 2026, we’re reminding everyone working outdoors to take sun safety seriously.

Too much UV exposure can lead to dehydration, heat stress, sunburn, and increase the risk of skin cancer — especially in industries like construction where outdoor work is common.

Simple protection measures like sunscreen, hydration, shaded breaks, and suitable PPE can make a huge difference.

During Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re highlighting that mental health is just as important as physical health, particularly in high-pressure industries like construction.

Stress, workload, isolation and poor work-life balance can all impact wellbeing and safety, so early support and open communication are essential.

If you or your team need support, organisations such as Lighthouse Charity and Mind provide specialist help and resources.

💡 Safety Tip of the Week

Don’t ignore near misses.
A near miss is a warning sign, not a 'lucky escape'. The same situation could easily result in an injury next time.

👉 This week, make it a habit to:
Report near misses immediately
Identify what caused them
Put simple controls in place

⚠️ Most incidents are preventable, but only if you act early.
