I’m going to be really honest with you today because I think we need to talk about this more…

I had a proper plan for today! A list of things I genuinely needed to get done for my business, clients and for my members… and then real life happened in the way that it tends to when you have a newborn.

Cluster feeding meant my laptop stayed closed most of today. She finally napped this afternoon, I moved her carefully, and she woke up anyway…. then I spotted a rash and suddenly the afternoon was a GP appointment instead of the work session I’d been holding out for 🫠

The guilt came from both directions at once and I know so many of you will recognise this feeling. Guilty that I wasn’t responding to my members or clients as quickly as I wanted to.

Then guilty the other way because I was checking my phone during cuddles and answering messages during feeds. There is genuinely no version of that where you feel like you’re doing either thing well enough!

But here’s what I kept coming back to… I still got enquiries today because my profile was working when I couldn’t.

And I want to be really clear that this isn’t just a new mum thing, this really is a pet pro thing….
The groomer who is back to back with appointments until 6pm with no time to think about content.

The walker who finishes a four hour morning round exhausted before lunchtime.

The trainer juggling clients and admin and a whole life outside of the business.

We put so much pressure on ourselves to show up consistently, and sometimes life is just too full and too unpredictable for that…. but your profile can work on those days. It can build trust while you’re on the school run, answer the questions a potential client is quietly asking and make booking feel like the obvious next step, all without you having to do a single thing.

It just has to actually be doing its job first 🙃

Inside this carousel are June content ideas that actually match how pet owners think right now….

Because your June content should never just be “summer vibes + cute pics”… 🙃

It’s:
• people in full summer countdown mode (holidays, weddings, weekends away, kids stuff)
• “we’ll sort it soon…” energy (until it’s suddenly July and everything’s chaos)
• owners noticing new stress points (heat, routines changing, dogs struggling to settle, behaviour feeling ‘worse’ when they’re out more)
• and that pressure of “I just need this to feel easier before summer properly starts”

So if your content feels like it’s getting likes… but not enquiries… it’s not always your posts…

It’s whether your profile is doing its job when they click.

Because marketing gets easier when:
✔ your content builds trust
✔ your profile makes it obvious who you help
✔ the next step is clear
✔ people don’t have to “work” to understand you

Five years. FIVE YEARS. 🥹

I'll be honest... I almost forgot today as my 5 year business anniversary 😅

I'm currently sitting here in a complete newborn bubble, running on electrolytes, dry shampoo and a kind of love that hits different when you've got a tiny human on your chest... but somewhere between the 3am feeds and the nappy changes, my five year business anniversary snuck up on me, exactly one week after Baby B was born!

But I didn't want to let it pass without saying something. Because this... this AMAZING business of mine... means everything to me 🩷

So here are my 5 biggest lessons from 5 years in business. Consider this my love letter to it all....

1. You don't need to serve everyone to have a full diary.... the more I leaned into exactly who I wanted to help, the faster things grew.

2. Your audience can smell inauthenticity from a mile off.
The content that's flopped for me has always been way too polished, strategic, "correct." The content that's taken off is the honest, slightly-imperfect, this-is-actually-what-I-think stuff!

3. Consistency will always beat perfection. I WILL ALWAYS SHOUT THIS FROM THE ROOFTOPS!!! I have shown up through house moves, heartbreak, client chaos, pregnancy, and now... a newborn. That compounding effect is real.

4. The right clients make everything feel easy and my goodness I am blessed with the best. My members and clients are just absolutely incredible. There have been seasons where I dreaded opening my inbox, and seasons where I've been giddy to start work. The difference was always the people, I choose my people carefully now!

5. Building something of your own is one of the most radical things you can do, especially as a woman. Especially when the world is telling you to shrink, to fit in, to be sensible. This business has been the most confident, expansive version of me and I'm proud of her... and I continue to be proud of her!

To every single client, member, and pet pro who's ever opened one of my emails, followed along, recommended me, trusted me with their business, thank you sooooo much 🥹

Here's to whatever the next five years hold.🥂
(Hopefully slightly more sleep 😅)

And fixing it wouldn’t take a rebrand or a new strategy at all.

Yes great content matters, but I’ve watched pet pros change nothing about their posting and suddenly start filling their books

Because they fixed the profile instead ✅

It builds trust before you’ve even spoken to them, it makes the next step obvious. It turns the click into an enquiry.
