Glass Snow Globe Cup Safety Note!!
Any time you use glass for a snow globe cup, there is an added risk compared to acrylic.

A friend and fellow cup maker reached out to me tonight. While on live, she was drinking from a 20oz glass snow globe cup she had made herself when she realized there was glitter in her drink. After the live ended, she checked the cup and discovered the inside bottom was broken. The only thing she could figure is that it happened when she dropped ice into it.
I’ve personally heard multiple stories of glass cups cracking or breaking when ice cubes or heavy straws (metal or glass) are dropped in. With glass, you also need to keep in mind:
• Sudden temperature changes
• Expanding liquid inside the globe
• Everyday impact from ice or straws
• The fact that if a globe breaks, the solution can leak into your drink — and some solutions (such as slime activators/borax mixtures) are toxic if ingested.

Using glass is absolutely a personal preference, both for makers and customers. But it’s important to be aware of the risks and to always warn your customers if you choose to sell glass snow globe cups.
