Guest today was Gemma Lythgoe from Bury College, in partnership with Greater Manchester Further Education Innovation Programme (GMFEIP). Supporting local businesses to improve business growth and productivity through innovation. Free, expert support, tailored to your organisation.

‘Learn the Law‘ with Mark explained ‘Wardship’ when high courts are appointed as guardian to protect and safeguard children, making them wards of court.

A few members mentioned Christmas! Social events, meetings in December, Bury Hospice Christmas fair and Christmas jumper day.

The lovely Michelle acted as sub today for Melissa.

From engines to abseiling

Well our meetings never lack variety and today was no exception. Member spotlight was Paul who entertained us with his humorous rendition of how he set up his business amidst the banking crash of 2010 and has grown to 15 mini buses and 16 staff. Garside garage now provides an array of services for; cars, vans, mini buses and campers which includes; DPF cleaning, engine carbon clean as well as the usual mechanical repairs.

Learn the law with Mark subject was ‘subpoena’ a witness summons which is a legally binding court order requiring someone to attend court to give evidence or produce documents.

Last but not least a team from NWN abseiled down Peel tower to raise funds for Bury Hospice.

WE ALL DID IT!!!!!

Well done to everyone who took part in the NWN abseil raising funds for Bury Hospice!

A massive thank you to everyone that has donated to the event and helped us to raise £1,788 (as it stands on Sunday evening) 👍

None stop communication today, the room was buzzing with; news, referrals and business.

Learn the law with Mark covered the moral support and advice provided by ‘McKenzie Friend’ for those unable to afford legal support.

AOB covered the time slots for our team who are abseiling down Peel Tower this Sunday to raise funds for Bury Hospice, all donations welcomed.

Life choices!

Members chose to attend our meetings but breakfast choice depends on preference.

Our member spotlight today was Taylor who enlightened us with his own history and that of WHN. Mark went from Life Guard to Legal Professional and works as a divorce solicitor at WHN specialising in Family Law and is on the Law Society Children Panel. In 1791 Samuel Woodcock started the business with one office and today after various changes and mergers WHN has 9 offices around Lancashire.

We also welcomed new member Elwood to the group.
