There’s old advice that says to start with the hardest task. Eat the frog.
It works for some people. For many others, it produces a morning of avoidance and a lunch break with nothing done.
The reverse strategy is quieter and deserves more credit. Start with the smallest thing you can finish. Reply to the easy email. File the document. Tidy the desk. The brain registers completion. Momentum starts. By the time you arrive at the hard thing, you’re being arrived at by a version of you who’s already moving.
Some days you can eat the frog. Some days you can’t. Both versions of you deserve a strategy.
What’s the smallest finishable thing on your list today?
On the days the smallest step is the only one available, our Daily Wise Blocks is that step — sixty minutes, online, you don’t have to plan anything else.
