AND 🩸We have already funded and installed 5️⃣0️⃣ MERE
bleed kits into our Defib Store
cabinets expanding public access to life-saving equipment in the event of a medical emergency.

Our Defib Family's been busy.
From talks in Tewkesbury to demos in the (Forest of) Dean, we are on it!

And rescue ready!

So a massive collaborative thank you to everybody who supports us, welcomes us and facilitates having defibs in their location

Public Hearts collaboration with Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue is really starting to pay dividends in the community

Here we are at the location of one of our most supported defibs in Cheltenham Town Centre at Quadrangle Cheltenham

Having placed a bleed kit there a couple of months ago Lewis and Clare are here to deliver an awareness and confidence session and how to use MERE Supplies bleed kits

In these environments, bleed kits aren't for what most people think initially - they are least often used for that -
These are for anyone with an open fracture right through to garden machinery and DIY accidents. Particularly ahead of a Bank Holiday where A&E accident injury and emergency admissions spike

It's now common knowledge that safe use of a defibrillator within the first few minutes can substantially increase the chances of survival in the event of a cardiac arrest.

It's exactly the same with the bleed kit
If someone suffers a severe arterial bleed, a life-threatening amount of blood can be lost in 2 to 6 minutes
So it's therefore vital that we use our existing Public Hearts infrastructure i.e our Defib Store Ltd tore cabinets to house these vital lifesaving bleed kits.

In our next video, we will share a practical demonstration of how easy it is to use these kits and how applying the correct part in the right place at the right time can save time and potentially a life.
