Our third and last speaker at the May is David McAtamney, Founder and Executive Chairman of Stadium.
David McAtamney is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Stadium, bringing more than 40 years of expertise in the planning, logistics, and delivery of world class events across the UK and the Middle East. His career has been built on a deep understanding of the operational demands faced by agencies across the Events and Hospitality sector, and Stadium’s culture continues to reflect his core values of quality, commitment, teamwork, honesty, trust, and loyalty.
David established Stadium in 2009—originally as StadiumTM—specialising in traffic management for football matches and major live events. He quickly recognised that the fan journey to and from a venue was an overlooked but critical part of event safety and experience. This insight became the foundation for Stadium’s growth. What began as a traffic management provider has since expanded into a comprehensive safety and security group delivering Traffic & Car Park Management, Event Stewarding & Security, Training, and Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) solutions.
Under David’s leadership, Stadium has become a trusted partner to venues, governments, and safety organisations worldwide. The company is recognised for setting and exceeding industry standards, offering an end to end approach to event safety, security, and crowd management.
A major milestone in Stadium’s international work came between 2017 and 2022, when the organisation trained more than 8,500 Qatar based operatives ahead of the FIFA World Cup. This included delivering formal qualifications such as the Level 2 International Certificate in Spectator Safety, Level 3 Certificate in Spectator Safety, and Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management.
Today, Stadium provides Security, Traffic Management, HVM, Event Stewarding, and Car Park Operations for more than 10 major UK stadiums, including Manchester United, Everton FC, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Coventry City FC.
David now serves as Chairman of the Stadium Group, which includes Stadium FM, the company’s security and cleaning division, and Stadium Training, which delivers SIA Security and Level 2/3/4 Spectator Safety qualifications across the UK.
