The day I've been dreading has finally arrived. After 10yrs of faithful service, my coffee machine has brewed its last Americano!

I cannot thank .uk enough for doing all they could to help me resolve what turned out to be a terminal problem, including sending a link to share my video so they could actually see what was going on in real-time and guide me through the last few desperate procedures to try resuscitation... and for giving me great advice on how to move forward with life after my Latissimo Touch.

So, on a morning out with my eldest daughter, and having a little silliness (she's 34, btw!), we were in KrispyKreme. She took this photo to send to her mum and sister. The girl serving us behind the counter noticed and said, "Why not, great to see someone not taking themselves too seriously". Then she added something surprising.

"That's one of our values". Crikey, I thought, an employee who actually knows their company's values. Intrigued, I googled them (as you do).

Now, there's nothing specifically about not taking yourself seriously in KrispyKreme values, but there is a motto (see the pic). Honestly, I've never been more impressed. Here was someone who clearly not only knew the company values, but understood how they translated to her job... and she was very clearly living those values every day on the shopfloor.

Good on you, Carla of , Metrocentre, Gateshead! And thanks for a great time. It was, indeed, FUN!

This is my .uk coffee machine. I love this machine! It's been delivering my coffee for 10 years now. I literally dread the day this mighty little machine serves its last cup 😞

It's been able to last so long, 8 years post-warantee!, because I make sure I regularly clean it, clean the milk frother after every use, and descale it (using De'Longhi descaling fluid, of course) the minute the light comes on.

The point of this frivolous post....

Whether it's a coffee machine, a laptop, a drill, or a chop saw, if you look after your equipment, your equipment will look after you! 😉

Heading back to for a few weeks to work with delivering leadership training on the excellent programme. Competence HR have put together a truly innovative, high-quality, and exciting leadership development programme linked to the Level 5 and 7 Certifcates in Management and Leadership. I get to spend 3 or 4 days with the best and brightest leaders in OQ, helping develop world-class leadership capability.

And for car enthusiasts, a photo of an MG BGT that my nephew sent me last week. I used to own the exact same model, but a 1974 in Midnight Blue. A glorious car!!

When we get the level of engagement and the really positive feedback we're getting from delegates, the hostile environmental conditions fade away LOL

A reminder tonight, that the only constant in life is change!

Visited what used to be my favourite coffee stop - Fanajeen at Azaiba Beach. Alas, it is no more! 😭

Instead, we now have Caffè Farah. Arguably, a significant improvement! Specifically, the quality and ambience of the restaurant itself. And if the coffee and tiramasu I had is anything to go by, the food too!

When I saw that Fanajeen had gone, a pang of disappointment came over me. But, I thought I'd embrace the change and try the new incarnation.

Change is not all bad. Lean in to it, embrace it with hope and positivity, and you might just be pleasantly surprised. I was. Thank you Caffè Farah for reminding me.

The series of workshops lead to the Level 5 Certificate in Leadership & Management, and the level of engagement from the delegates makes me believe the company had a bright future as it moves forward.
