Trust has always mattered to me, long before I had my own business.
Throughout more than 20 years in corporate marketing, communications and brand management, I worked with senior management teams, sat in boardrooms and had one-to-one conversations with chairmen. People asked for my opinion, listened to it and trusted me with things that could not travel any further than that room.
My voice helped shape decisions and pieces of work, but I never believed I had to be the loudest person to be heard. I built respect by listening properly, being honest and handling important conversations with care.
That has not changed now that I work with women running their own businesses.
When we sit down together, you can give me the messy version. You can tell me what is really happening, what you are worried about, what you are excited about and what you have not managed to put into words yet.
You do not need to turn every experience into a post either. Your brand is your story, but you decide which parts you want people to see. Anything else stays where it belongs.
That safe, honest conversation is often where the clearest ideas begin.
