Today, Downpatrick has lost a true stalwart of the community.
What began as a professional relationship through many difficult occasions for families —often at nights, weekends and even over Christmas—grew into something far more meaningful. We were proud to stand alongside Barry’s family, not only as work colleagues but as genuine friends.
Barry was not only a dedicated and respected businessman, but someone who carried his work with quiet strength, compassion and unwavering professionalism. Working alongside his brother Martin, he helped build and uphold a service that supported countless families through their most difficult times.
Our heartfelt thoughts and deepest condolences are with his daughters Aimée and Nicola, his partner Noleen, his brother Martin, his sister Alison, his mum and the entire Rourke family at this incredibly sad time. RIP Barry ♥️
ROURKE, 4th APRIL 2026, BARRY, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, devoted dad to Aimée (Ross) and Nicola, much loved partner of Noleen, beloved brother of Martin and Alison, cherished son of Connie and the late Charlie, brother-in-law of Claire, loving uncle and friend to many.
