Every now and again, the opportunity to step up to the plate arrives, and for us that came in February 2023, when we were approached and told that NUFC were planning a Celebration Event on Newcastle Town Moor for over 150,000 persons should NUFC successfully win the cup at Wembley. NUFC would manage the event with their own stewarding, but they would like Complete to provide a specialist team to support that endeavour, providing a large Pit Team for the Front of Stage, Production security teams, Media and VIP security and specialist backstage roles. When you find yourselves the only security company asked to assist with the largest event ever in the North-East, there’s no option but to stand up and be counted, otherwise why else are we here?
Unfortunately, the Wembley victory didn’t come, and the plans were shelved. But then on the 16th March 2025, NUFC beat Liverpool 2 – 1, and the event came back to life.
We took a management team with 130 years of experience, a wealth of crowd management and event safety training, and our organisation’s event planning capacity and went to task!
In the end official estimates indicate an attendance of around 160,000 persons making this the largest single stage show that anyone in our team has ever worked on, and one of the biggest ever in the UK at all, and we delivered our role to perfection. Textbook Pit Extrications, faultless customer service, responding swiftly and safely to every incident required. The attendees were superb, with no serious incidents through the day, but our team tirelessly attending every requirement with precision and perfection every time – receiving superb feedback from NUFC and AH Events, who delivered the venue and event on behalf of NUFC.
It's easy to talk the talk, but here at Complete, we’re much more interested in walking the walk!
