🛠️ This Week at Ely Computer Centre – Repairs Roundup! 🛠️

It’s been another busy week in the workshop, with a great mix of repairs coming through the door. Here’s a look at just some of the jobs we’ve completed — you’ll see photos of each attached!

🎮 GPU Fan Replacement + Thermal Paste Refresh
We also repaired a graphics card where the cooling fans had completely failed. While replacing the fans, we took the opportunity to refresh the thermal paste too — giving the GPU a new lease of life and keeping those temperatures under control.

💻 Cracked Screens (Windows & Apple)
We’ve replaced several broken screens this week across both Windows laptops and Apple MacBooks. Whether it’s from a drop, a knock, or an unfortunate bag incident, a cracked display doesn’t mean the end — we can get them looking brand new again.

🔩 More Hinge Repairs
Hinge issues continue to be one of the most common problems we see. As always, we’ve repaired multiple laptops where the hinge mounts had failed or the casing had started to separate. A solid fix brings these machines back to life and saves customers from needing a replacement device.

🔧 MacBook Pro Motherboard Swap
One of the bigger jobs this week was a full motherboard replacement on a MacBook Pro. After the original board failed, we installed a replacement and got the machine running smoothly again.

Another busy week at Ely Computer Centre, with two more broken laptop screens repaired and returned to happy customers ✔️
Cracked, flickering or completely dead displays are something we see every week — and in most cases, they’re very repairable for a fraction of the cost of replacing the whole laptop.

As a reminder, we don’t just fix screens. We carry out all types of computer and laptop repairs, including:
