Hello, Chardonnay 👋🍇

The Chardonnay is looking rather lovely in The Vicarage Field.

Big, beautiful bunches and plenty of them, all soaking up these last weeks of summer sunshine before harvest.

It’s hard to believe that soon these grapes will be making their way from the vineyard to the winery.

For now, we’re keeping a very close eye on them and enjoying seeing just how far they’ve come.

Harvest is getting closer... 🍇

Our Pinot Meunier is coming along very nicely… 🍇

Just look at the size of those bunches! 🙌🏻

These grapes are destined for our rosé, and we’re very excited to see how they’re developing as we get closer to harvest.

Annie, however, appears considerably less impressed by all the fuss… 🐶😂

Figgy’s Fizz was created in memory of our son and brother, Chris, known to everyone as Figgy.

It was important to our family that, through the wine made in his name, we could support work that helps people experiencing suicidal feelings.

The Listening Place provides free, face-to-face support for people who feel life is no longer worth living, giving them the opportunity to explore those thoughts in a compassionate, non-judgmental and confidential space.

In support of The Listening Place. A donation of 50p from every bottle sold will be made by Figgis Family Vineyard to The Listening Place (Registered Charity No. 1164739).

Thank you to everyone who has already bought a bottle and helped us support their vital work. 💙

Just look at the Pinot Noir! 🍇 The grapes have almost finished changing colour and the bunches are looking beautifully full.🍇

This stage is called véraison, when the grapes begin to ripen, soften and turn from green to those beautiful deep purple tones.

And they’re certainly not looking shy this year! These bunches are getting bigger by the day.

Another little sign that harvest is getting closer.

This September will mark another first for Figgis Family Vineyard. 🍇

In 2024, we planted a second vineyard, The Vicarage Field, with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay vines.

Last year, the vines were still too young to give us a harvest. This year, The Vicarage is carrying an incredible amount of fruit, and in September we’ll harvest it for the first time.

The plan is to use those grapes to produce three single-estate still wines: a Pinot Noir red, Pinot Meunier rosé and Chardonnay white.

There’s still plenty of growing and ripening to happen between now and harvest, but after two years of tending these vines, seeing such a strong first crop developing is a really exciting milestone.

Figgy’s Fizz 2025, our very first English sparkling wine, is now available to order. 🍇✨

Made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown here at Figgis Family Vineyard based on Mount Ephriam Estate, nr Faverhsam, Figgy’s Fizz is bright, lightly sparkling, fresh and fruit-forward, with a wonderfully refreshing finish. Best enjoyed well chilled.

This first bottle means an enormous amount to our family.

We planted our vineyard in memory of our son and brother, Chris, “Figgy”, and it feels incredibly special to now be able to share the wine that carries his name.

Just 4,000 bottles have been produced from our first vintage.
