Employability Services supports people across North East Lincolnshire aged 16 years and up to retirement, by developing their employability skills and setting them on a pathway to sustainable employment. Employability Services is part of Care Plus Group, an organisation providing adult health and social care services to people across North East Lincolnshire to help improve people’s health and wellbeing and to enrich people’s lives.

This Learning Disability Week, we’re delighted to share Cameron’s journey with CPG Employability Services.

With support from Evie, Employability Support Assistant, Cameron has grown in confidence and developed valuable skills through a volunteering placement with Grimsby in Bloom. He has now achieved an exciting milestone by securing a paid role supporting the delivery of Oliver McGowan training, which covers topics such as, understanding learning disabilities and autism.

Cameron said: “Thanks for helping me out with employment, it was very difficult finding employment when not receiving responses from employers, so it really helped to have someone help out.”

Evie, Employability Support Assistant, said: “The difference in Cameron from when I started supporting him to now is amazing! He has really found his feet and shown commitment from the very start. Truly well done and I wish him the best.”

This is a fantastic achievement that reflects Cameron's hard work and dedication. His journey highlights how the right support can help break down barriers, build confidence, and open doors to meaningful opportunities. 👏

🌟Supporting People into Employment Starts with Strong Connections🌟

Here’s a glimpse into the work Care Plus Group Employability do behind the scenes to support people on their journey.

This week our Employability Support Officer Tina met with Angie, the manager of a local charity shop, Women’s Aid. Angie is one of many individuals who helps bring our work to life by hosting our participants on placement.

Partnerships like this are so important, helping individuals build confidence, gain experience, and take meaningful steps towards employment.

Tina says: “The community are a huge part of the journey. We couldn’t do it without their support.”

This week’s visit highlights just one of the many ways we support individuals behind the scenes, connecting people to opportunities that can shape their future.

We’re delighted to celebrate Kirsty’s journey with Employability Services 💙
With support from Employability Support Officer Tina, Kirsty rebuilt her confidence, completed a voluntary placement, and developed key job search and interview skills.
Kirsty has now secured a role at The Haven Holiday Park, joining the bar and waiting staff team, a fantastic achievement 👏
Tina said: “Kirsty’s dedication throughout her journey has been brilliant. This success is truly well deserved.”
Kirsty said: “I’m really enjoying my new job and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.”

🌟 Gracie – Stepping Outside the Comfort Zone 🌟

Care Plus Group Employability Services are incredibly proud to share Gracie’s journey during her placement at Centre 4 as a Youth Support Worker. Gracie has shown real determination in overcoming barriers, building confidence, and developing valuable new skills along the way.

With support from Evie, Employability Support Assistant, Gracie has stepped outside her comfort zone, embraced new opportunities, and grown week by week in confidence and positivity. Her resilience and commitment have been outstanding, even when challenges arose.

Gracie is now more self-assured, engaged, and proud of what she is achieving, a fantastic example of perseverance and progress.

Gracie says: “I feel comfortable working here and the staff are very welcoming and kind.”

Evie says: “I am really impressed with how Gracie has adapted to the location and environment; she has been punctual and has learnt valuable skills. I’m excited to see her progress further.”

🌟Clare’s Success Story 🌟

We are celebrating Clare’s journey with CPG Employability services!

Supported by Employability Support Office Tina, Clare was able to rebuild her confidence through volunteering. Having always loved retail, Clare was eager to return to showcase her skills and friendly nature.

Together, Claire and Tina explored volunteering roles that they felt were suitable for her. With encouragement and guidance, Clare secured a placement aligning with her previous retail background and her desire to help others.

Claire has since been able to rebuild her confidence and daily routine. Her cheerful presence has made a positive impact within the workplace.

Tina: “Claire is a joy to support, seeing her return to a voluntary placement has been wonderful.”
