Is it really worth visiting our showroom?
Meet “Jenny”; she was experiencing ongoing back discomfort and, following an online workstation assessment organised by her employer, was advised to change her chair.
However, little else about her workstation was identified.
Her physiotherapist recommended a gaming chair that had worked well for him. The problem? He was 6'1". Jenny is 5'4".
So Jenny did some further research, including asking ChatGPT, and was recommended to visit the Healthy Home & Office showroom. She also checked out our reviews before booking.
Before her visit, we asked Jenny to bring some photos of her workstation and a few key measurements.
Within 30 minutes, we identified 5 potential problems:
1️⃣ Her desk was too high
This meant she was having to lift her shoulders and arms to use her keyboard, increasing stress and strain on her shoulders, neck and upper back.
2️⃣ Her monitor was too low
This caused her to tilt her head forwards. Adding stress on her neck and upper back.
3️⃣ Her monitor was too far away
This resulted in Jenny leaning forwards, moving her away from the back support of her chair and causing her head to move further forwards.
4️⃣ She wasn't taking regular breaks
Jenny would often sit for 2–3 hours at a time without getting up.
Simply a lack of awareness of good working habits. We recommended getting up, moving and stretching regularly throughout the day.
5️⃣ The gaming chair wasn't suitable for her proportions
The seat was too deep for Jenny.
She would either have to perch towards the front of the seat, losing the benefit of the back support, or sit further back with her feet off the floor.
So what happened next?
Rather than simply telling Jenny what to buy, we recreated her working setup in our showroom.
So we could show her the problems, adjust it, and she could experience what her setup could be like.
She immediately noticed the difference.
Jenny gained a much better understanding of the causes of her discomfort, and it allowed her to make an informed decision.

She just needed to understand what was actually causing the problems first.
So… is a showroom visit worth it?
We think so.
Because sometimes the answer isn't simply “buy a new chair.”
It's about looking at the person, the chair, the desk, the screen and the way they're actually working — together.
