💙💛 Keeping Scotland’s roads moving safely.

25/10/2026

🌧️ THE STORM MAY PASS, BUT THE HAZARDS MAY REMAIN.

Following the severe winds experienced across Scotland, we’re reminding all road users to remain vigilant over the coming days.

With further unsettled weather forecast, the effects of strong winds can continue to present hazards long after the worst conditions have passed.

🚧 Temporary traffic management: Be alert for displaced cones, damaged barriers and temporary signs affected by the wind.

⚠️ Unexpected hazards: Fallen branches, debris and standing water can create additional risks.

🚗 Approaching roadworks: Reduce your speed, follow temporary traffic signals and allow extra space.

👷 For those working on our roads: Thorough checks of traffic management equipment and site layouts are especially important following severe weather.

If you encounter damaged or displaced traffic management equipment, please report it to the appropriate road authority or traffic management provider. Never attempt to move equipment yourself.

A little extra awareness can make a big difference.

At Alba Traffic Management, we’re committed to keeping Scotland’s roads safe for everyone.

Keeping Scotland Moving Safely.

A heads-up for anyone travelling around Inverness and Loch Ness tomorrow, Sunday 27 September.

The Baxter’s Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running takes place tomorrow, with the Marathon, River Ness 10K, 5K and Wee Nessie events bringing around 11,000 participants to the area.

Temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place across Inverness and the south side of Loch Ness. Times vary by road, with some restrictions starting from 7am. Ness Bridge will remain open, and access for emergency services will be maintained.

Please plan ahead, allow extra time for your journey and check the full maps and timings before travelling. Roads are due to reopen at the times shown, or earlier if it’s safe to do so.

Thank you to local residents and businesses for your patience and support.
