📍Ethel & Em was founded in 2019 with a vision to build a reputation not only for a thoughtfully curated selection of creative supplies but as a vital, inclusive community hub. Following a nationwide search, their shop is being showcased as part of the official countdown to Small Business Saturday on Dec 05, 2026.
🧵Ethel & Em is a BIPOC owned and LGBTQ+ managed independent yarn and stationery shop in Lancaster, built on a love of making and exploring different ways of creating. They offer a thoughtfully curated mix of yarns, hooks, needles and notions, alongside pens, notebooks and journalling accessories across a wide range of brands, materials and price
points, making creativity accessible to all visitors. Just as important as what they sell is the space they create. Ethel & Em holds a welcoming, inclusive community where people come to learn, share and connect. For many, the shop is more than a place to buy supplies. It is somewhere to feel safe, supported and part of something.
