🌟Celebrating Volunteers’ Week - thank you to our volunteers

As Volunteers’ Week comes to a close, we want to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who continue to make a real difference across our communities and local health services.

One great example comes from a Patient Participation Group at Clarendon Lodge Medical Practice, who have been working with Integrated Primary Care’s Digital Champions to support patients to confidently use the NHS App.

Through training, shadowing and hands-on experience, volunteers have gone on to run their own support sessions, helping patients build confidence with digital tools that make accessing care easier and more accessible.

This is a brilliant example of what can happen when communities are empowered to support one another in health and care.

GP practices rely on many different roles to care for patients - not just GPs👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

When you visit your practice, you might also see:
- Clinical Pharmacists: who can support with medications, reviews and prescriptions
- Care Coordinators: who help organise your care and make sure you’re seeing the right person at the right time
- Health and Wellbeing Coaches: who support you to make positive lifestyle changes and manage your health
- Social Prescribing Link Workers: who can connect you with local services and community support

We help Primary Care Networks (PCNs) recruit, support and develop these wider teams so patients continue to receive the care they need.

Sun Awareness Week is a good reminder to check your skin👀

Keep an eye on any new or changing moles or skin changes, especially:
- Changes in size, shape or colour
- Irregular edges
- Itching or bleeding
