📱Helping students get to grips with the NHS App!

IPC Digital Champions recently joined the University of Warwick Health Centre at the University’s Freshers’ Fair to help students discover how the NHS App can make managing their health easier.

From downloading and setting up the app to exploring its features, the team supported students to build confidence in using digital health services. They also helped international students access the web version of the NHS App when they were unable to download it onto their phones.

💙Our 2026 Charity of the Year has been chosen!

We're pleased to announce that SWGP will be supporting The Esther Project - Women of Worth as our annual charity during 2026/27. The charity was chosen by our team as part of our Staff Survey. 🎉

The Esther Project supports women to overcome barriers caused by trauma and social or economic disadvantage, helping them to thrive and build fulfilling, independent lives.

They provide safe spaces, supported housing and holistic recovery services for women facing domestic abuse, homelessness, complex trauma, addiction and other significant life challenges.

SWGP has made an initial £200 donation to The Esther Project to kick-start our support, and we'll be looking at other ways to get involved throughout the year. 💙

We were also pleased to welcome Lianne, Founder and Director of The Esther Project, to our Whole Team Meeting on 10th September, where she told us more about the charity, the work they do and how our support will help.

We're looking forward to supporting The Esther Project throughout 2026/27 and finding out more about the incredible work they do.

🏃‍♀️📱Taking NHS App support into the community!

IPC’s Digital Champions recently teamed up with parkrun UK to promote digital inclusion and raise awareness of the NHS App at two local events in Leamington and Bedworth.

Across the two events, the team spoke to 242 people, with 16% not yet having the NHS App. They were able to provide one-to-one support, answer questions and help people understand how the app can support them to manage their healthcare.

The pilot brought together Digital Champions, parkrun volunteers, healthcare professionals, GP practices and PCN colleagues, with support from Hussain Solo (Dr Hussain Al-Zubaid), a local GP and parkrun ambassador.

A special thank you to Clarendon Lodge Medical Practice and Bedworth Health Centre for the support they provided during the pilot.

It's a great example of how working with trusted community partners can help us reach people and start conversations about digital health💙
