Thursday night, our business was the victim of a professional organised burglary.
This wasn’t an opportunistic theft. The individuals involved have planned their actions carefully over a period of time, gaining access via upper floors before breaking through into our premises. They cut our phone, internet, CCTV cables, CCTV hard drives and stole precious metals that are sadly difficult to trace.
For many people, businesses are just buildings. But for us, this is our livelihood and something we have poured our hearts into for years.
One of the hardest realities is that specialist businesses like ours cannot obtain insurance cover for losses of this nature.
Today, we’re feeling shocked, disappointed and heartbroken for our vendors and our team.
We also want to acknowledge our neighbours at Leeds Martial Arts, whose premises were broken into so that the thieves could gain access to ours. They too have been affected by this crime, and we are truly sorry for the impact it has had on them.
To the scum who did this:
I see you.
Weeks of planning, hiding in the shadows, dropping through ceilings to steal from a family business.
I can’t imagine living a life where that’s something to be proud of. The truth has a habit of catching up with people, and so does karma.
As for us? We’ll keep going. That’s what honest, hardworking people do.
On a positive note we’re incredibly grateful. Grateful for the messages, support and kindness we’ve already received. Small businesses survive because of their communities, and we know we are fortunate to have such a wonderful one behind us.
Thank you for continuing to support us. It means more than you’ll ever know.
We are open for business 💚
