Progress in closing the gender gap in mobile internet adoption has stalled, and women are being left behind ๐ โ๏ธ
As we mark and this yearโs theme, , the need for action is more urgent than ever.
Across low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), women remain 14% less likely than men to use mobile internet, representing around 235 million fewer women than men. At a time when digital access is increasingly essential for healthcare, education, finance and livelihoods, this gap risks deepening existing inequalities.
Without sustained focus, investment and collaboration, this digital divide will persist, limiting womenโs access to life-changing opportunities.
Now is the time to invest in womenโs digital inclusion โ for social impact and economic growth.
