🌊 As part of this year's Great British Beach Clean, we joined forces with LCCI Patron Member and Sustainability Programme Partner Veolia UK, for our annual clean-up at Queenhithe beach.

Our members joined colleagues from Veolia UK and LCCI to make a tangible difference, collectively removing an impressive 26.1kg of litter, surpassing last year’s total. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us.

Initiatives like this demonstrate the power of collaboration in creating a more sustainable future for London. This week, the global aviation and sustainable fuels community came together at SAF Global Summit 2026, 22–23 September at the QEII Centre, London.

It was great to see industry leaders from across aviation, energy, technology, investment and policy connecting in London to exchange ideas and accelerate the next chapter of the global SAF market.

LCCI played a leading role in the conversation around sustainable aviation, with Mark Jenkinson moderating the forum session "Airports as Energy Hubs: The New Gatekeepers of SAF."

The discussion brought together industry leaders from Airport Regions Council, Aeroporti di Roma and Avinor to examine how airports are evolving into critical energy hubs through SAF storage, blending and distribution infrastructure, as well as the partnerships needed to connect sustainable fuel supply with growing aviation demand.

The SAF Global Summit 2026, taking place on 22–23 September in London, is the premier global event for advancing Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), uniting 1,000+ policymakers, energy leaders, SAF producers, investors, leading airports, airlines, OEMs, and logistics experts.

We were delighted to welcome members and guests of LCCI's Asian Business Association for an evening of networking at The Ivy, in the heart of London's West End.

Bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from across London's diverse business community, the event provided a valuable opportunity to make new connections, strengthen existing relationships and explore potential collaborations.

Guests heard from our CEO Karim Fatehi OBE and Dr Walaa Bakry, Director of Executive Education at the University of Westminster Business School, who highlighted the importance of diversity as a key driver of economic growth, innovation, talent and business success. They also recognised the significant contribution of Asian businesses to London’s economy/

As part of City Giving Day we will be collecting donations for The Trussell Trust and Smart Works. We're looking for:

➡️Foodbank essentials: dog food, long-life milk, teabags, pasta, rice, tinned fruit, tinned sweetcorn, tinned tuna, nappies (size 6 & 7) and washing-up liquid.
➡️Interview-appropriate items: clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories that are high quality, clean and in a wearable condition.

Patrick Angell, LCCI Business Development Director, recently hosted a Property and Construction roundtable with senior leaders from our membership to gather industry insight ahead of LCCI's Budget submission and response to the London Plan consultation.

The discussion explored some of the most significant challenges and opportunities facing the sector, including London’s national role and positioning, the planning system, development visibility, investor confidence, AI in planning and energy infrastructure. Attendees also examined infrastructure , property taxation, housing affordability and the importance of regulatory certainty.

The roundtable provided valuable perspectives that will help shape our policy recommendations and ensure the voice of London's business community is reflected in key consultations. Thank you to all those who joined us for such a constructive discussion.
