Last Thursday, G4S was incredibly proud to attend the launch of The Torch Confined 17 Exhibition at the Glen Eira City Council Gallery.
Since 2020, we have been a proud sponsor of The Torch Acquisitive Art Prize, and we are thrilled to congratulate this year's winner, Luke Mc, a proud Wulgurukaba man, for his magnificent artwork, Southern Songlines #9. Luke's piece is a powerful interpretation of Songlines—the cultural pathways that pass down love, law, creation stories, and land stewardship between tribes and generations.
The Confined Exhibition provides a dedicated space for First Peoples with lived experience of incarceration in Victoria to share their stories and culture through art, with 100% of all artwork sales going directly to the artists, empowering them to build positive pathways and financial independence beyond the justice system.
As an organisation operating within multiple justice sectors across Australia, G4S is committed to supporting meaningful rehabilitation and reducing recidivism. We partner with The Torch because their work provides a catalyst for positive change, fostering cultural connection and personal healing that supports First Nations people in building positive, self-determined futures post-release.
