Starting a business takes more than a good idea.

It takes confidence, persistence, and the ability to trust yourself when things don’t go to plan.

Hasina Rahman knows that first-hand.

When she launched Pink Diamond Martial Arts, her first class had just five students. Today, she has built a community of more than 100 women and girls, with some of her earliest students now becoming instructors themselves.

That’s what Hasina Rahman did when she founded Pink Diamond Martial Arts in 2015, creating a female-only space where women and girls could build confidence, strength and skill on their own terms.

Her journey wasn’t without doubt. Starting out in a male-dominated industry, Hasina faced scepticism and moments where she questioned whether she was good enough.

But she kept going.

Today, Pink Diamond has grown into a community of more than 100 students, with some of the girls Hasina taught years ago now becoming instructors themselves.
